FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

Dear Members,

Where oh where did the year go?!?! It seems like just yesterday I was blessed with the opportunity to be part of this wonderful “family” we call the Senior Center!

I am happy to report that our Sock Hop dance was very well attended and I am sure the Christmas dinner/dance will be also. Hope to see you all there! Don’t forget to wear your “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and join in the fun!

We will not be raising our membership dues this year. Dues are $30 per calendar year ($35 if out of county), and are due January 1, 2019. Where else can you go and have so much fun for $2.50 per month? If you are one of the lucky “snow birds”, won’t you consider paying your 2020 dues before you leave for warmer climates?

Thank you for being part of this wonderful “family” and supporting all the special events that we have. Together we make this place better and better with each smile, kind word and helpful hand to one another.

May you have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving and a very happy and Merry Christmas!

Rachel Hale, Executive Director

FROM YOUR PRESIDENT:

Dear Senior Center Members,

Did you happen to make it to the “Sock Hop” at the Senior Center on September 28th? If you did not you certainly missed a real good time. Rachel and her team along with INREALITY Digital DJ/Mark Adams, got the gang up and dancing. Saw a lot of poodle skirts, saddle shoes and along with the men’s outfi ts singing and dancing to the tunes of those such as Elvis, Chubby Checker, Fats Domino and so many other oldies but goodies!!

It brought back so many memories for everyone.

I hope you got to see Rachel and Cindy’s outfi ts, among others on the Senior Center Facebook page. A sight to see for sure.

Remember to come to our monthly carry-in dinner every 2nd Tuesday of the month, but for the month of November we will have a very special luncheon honoring our local Veterans. Veterans, must register for this event only. Call (937) 492-5266 for more information.

And check out the Senior Center Facebook page to see the many activities available to our members and you just might catch them in action having fun!!

Keep “PAYING IT FORWARD” daily, Even with just a smile.“Keep Smiling… It makes people wonder what you are up to”

Shelia Nuss, Board President

CLOSINGS AND DELAYS:As the weather turns colder and the snow starts to fall, please use caution when driving and walking. The Board of Trustees adopted a new policy at their meeting in April 5, 2019. The Senior Center follows the school DELAY policy ONLY. The Executive Director will be responsible for deciding whether or not the center will close due to weather. It is our goal to have the center open as much as possible while still ensuring the safety and well-being of our members. If the weather is bad, please listen to WMVR, Channel 2, and Channel 7 or call the Senior Center to see if we are open.
