Hodie arr. Gerald Edmonds

On this day, earth shall ring with the song children sing to the Lord, Christ our King, Born on earth to save us; Him the Father gave us. Ideo, gloria in excelsis Deo!

God’s bright star o’er His head, wise men three to Him led. Kneel they low by His bed, lay their gifts before Him, praise Him and adore Him.

On this day angels sing; with their song earth shall ring, Praising Christ, heaven’s King, born on earth to save us. Gloria! Personent Hodie – Traditional Text and Music 12th–14th Centuries © 1998 The Moody Church

Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns. Let all their songs employ. While fields and floods, Rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground. He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders of His love.

Come adore the humble King, Lowly in the manger; Fall before His majesty, Hail the little Savior. Hope, what hope no tongue could tell, God has come with us to dwell; His name is Emmanuel, O praise the humble King.

Come adore in humble state, He the song of angels; Join the wise who call His name And with all creation. Who, oh who would condescend, God unknown now calls us friend; Love that none could comprehend, O praise the humble King. © 2018 Getty Music Hymns and Songs, Getty Music Publishing, Love Your Enemies Publishing, Messenger Hymns

Come adore the King who came To our world to save us; Born to heal our prideful race, Crown us with forgiveness. Fall, oh fall before the one Who in mercy left His throne. Christ the Lord, God’s only Son; His glories now we sing, O praise the humble King.

Come adore, come adore, Come adore the King. Bow before, come adore The Name above all names.

So Long, Moses Tim Stafford, SoloAndrew Peterson

So long, Moses, hello, Promised Land. It was a long, long road, but your people are home. So long, Moses.

Hello, Joshua, goodbye Canaanites. We’re coming to town, Twelve tribes and no crown. No crown, oh Lord.

We want a king on a throne, Full of power, With a sword in his fist. Will there ever be, Ever be a king like this?

Hello, Saul, first king of Israel. You were foolish and strong, So you didn’t last long. Goodbye, Saul.

Hail, King David, Shepherd from Bethlehem. Set the temple of God in mighty Jerusalem.

He was a king on a throne, Full of power, With a sword in his fist. Has there ever been, Ever been a king like this?

Full of wisdom, full of strength, The hearts of the people are his. Hear, O Israel, Was there ever a king like this?

Hello, prophets. The kingdom is broken now. The people of God have been scattered abroad. How long, O Lord? © 2005 New Spring

So speak, Isaiah, prophet of Judah, Can you tell of the One, This king who’s going to come? Will he be a king on a throne, Full of power, With a sword in his fist? Prophet, tell us, Will there be another king like this?

Full of wisdom, full of strength, The hearts of the people are his. Prophet, tell us, Will there be another king like this?

Isaiah said, “He’ll bear no beauty or glory. Rejected, despised, A man of such sorrow, We’ll cover our eyes.

He’ll take up our sickness and carry our tears, For His people He will be pierced.

He’ll be crushed for our evils, Our punishment feel, By His wounds we will be healed.”

From you, O Bethlehem, Small among Judah, A ruler will come, ancient and strong.

Mary, Daughter of David Narration

O Little Town of Bethlehem Vocal Ensemble arr. Dan Forrest

O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie. Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light; The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above While mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wondering love. O morning stars, together proclaim the holy birth, And praises sing to God the King, and peace to all the earth.

How silently, how silently the wondrous gift is given. So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive Him still, the dear Christ enters in.

O Holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray! Cast out our sin and enter in; be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell! O come to us, abide with us, our Lord, Emmanuel. Phillips Brooks, St. Louis (Redner), alt. © 2017 Beckenhorst Press, Inc.

Silent Night Franz Grüber, arr. Craig Courtney

Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright. ‘Round yon Virgin – mother and Child, holy Infant so tender and mild, O sleep in heavenly peace; sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing “Alleluia.” Christ the Savior is born; Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord at Thy birth; Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.

Prepare Him Room Johanna Fraats, SoloDave Fournier and Rebecca Elliott

O, behold, the mystery now unfolds:See the star shine on the virgin foretold. Angels sing and light up the sky; hope rings out in a newborn’s cry. Swing wide you ancient gates, for Christ is born today.

Prepare Him room, prepare Him room, let the King of Glory enter in.

God with us: the promise has come to be; This the One the prophets were longing to see. In the darkness a blazing light; to the hungry the words of life. His kingdom now is near, for those with ears to hear.

Oh our hearts, as busy as Bethlehem; Hear Him knock; don’t say there’s no room in the inn. Through the cradle, cross, and grave, see the love of God displayed— Now He’s risen and He reigns; praise the Name above all names! © 2014 Sovereign Grace Praise

O Holy Night arr. Gerald Edmonds

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining—it is the night of the dear Savior’s birth. Long lay the world in sin and error, pining till He appeared, and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices; O night divine, O night when Christ was born!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, with glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming, here came the wise men from Orient land. The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger; in all our trials born to be our Friend. He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger. Behold your King, before Him lowly bend.

Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother, and in His name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, let all within us praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord, O praise His name forever, His power and glory evermore proclaim!
