December 7th is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The USS Arizona Memorial is lo-
cated in Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii.
"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of
America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the
Empire of Japan."
President Franklin D. Roosevelt
The University Police honor the veterans and family members on this day. We celebrate their
courage and commitment they made.
December 15th is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. The
University Police CHALLENGES you to a UGLY SWEATER
CONTEST. Come to The University Police Department, take a
picture with our tree, and be entered to win a Christmas gift. We
will contact the winner via email.
December is Toy Safety Month, please be mindful on the proper age
group of the toy you give this holiday. A good rule of thumb is if it can fit
through a toilet paper roll a small child can choke on it. The University Po-
lice would like you and your family to have a joyful and safe Christmas.

It is that time of year when Jack Frost comes nipping at your nose. The University Police would like to share
with you some safety tips for winter. 1). be mindful of the weather. The temperature can drop faster than you
know it. It is better to dress in layers. 2). be sure to wear some type of covering for your hands, nose, ears and
toes. Frostbite is no joke. 3). If you drive a vehicle, make sure you have a spare blanket and fuel in your car.
Check to see that your heater works and fluids are full. Check your tires, make sure they are properly inflated
and not to worn. 4). Be mindful of your activities outdoors, stay hydrated, if you get to cold or tired go inside to
get warm and rest. 5). Remember, The University Police is always here to help when needed. We assist with
vehicle jump-starts and vehicle unlocks.
