The good old king was nearing the end of his reign and the oldest son Nicolo was next in line for the throne.Also in Florence, a skillful street rat, named Lorenzo, and his clever friend Tullio lived on the streets and did what they could to get by.

At the sight of the beautiful woman, Lorenzo sauntered over to her meet her. However their meeting was cut short when the guards spotted him. Lorenzo and Tullio took to their feet, running as fast as they could.

The king was going to send Lorenzo to prison, but Lorenzo was adamant in his argument. Just as the final decision was being made to put Lorenzo in prison, Christina spoke up to her father, the king, and told a different side of the story.

After a few days with the family, he and Christina were in love and arranged to be married. However there would be a major setback because of the greedy Giovanni. He was eager for the throne.

Giovanni murdered Nicolo with his power and took the throne for himself. Imposing cruel law on Florence. He ruled as a tyrant and the people were his slaves. Lorenzo decided to return to Florence and seek revenge on Giovanni.

When Lorenzo found Tullio, Tullio informed him that Christina murdered herself to be with lorenzo. Because she thought he was dead. This greatened Lorenzo’s want for vengeance. Therefore he and Tullio went on a mission to the palace to murder the king.

Lorenzo sleighed the king after a long fray. However, Giovanni’s guards outnumbered Lorenzo and killed him. In the end Tullio was just able to escape.
