Christians
“And the disciples were called Christians first in Anti-
och” (Acts 11:26). What comes into your mind when your hear the
word “Christian?” It often means one thing to one person and some-
thing entirely different to someone else. In today’s society there are
hyphenated “Christians” depending upon what particular religious
body you happen to claim. The bible knows no such thing. Again, to-
day the name is applied to all religious people who claim to follow the
teachings of Christ. But some who claim to follow His teachings are
picking and choosing which they want to follow and which are
“alright” to ignore.
Used only three times in the Bible (Acts 11:26, 26:28, I Pet.
4:16), the word “Christian” speaks to a close relationship with
Christ our Lord”. Wearing the name Christian places us into the fam-
ily of God where we live and work together with one heart and one
soul. It is truly a most excellent, noble and majestic name by which
to be known. Being a Christian involves a host of things, a few of
which are: following God’s instructions (Matt. 7:21, John 14;15), stud-
ying God’s word (II Tim. 2:15; Acts 17:11), being a light to the world
(Matt. 5:16), being nar row (Matt. 7:13-16). Let’s do more than say
we are Christians, let’s be Christians!

It is an honor to have you join us in worship at the
Northside Church of Christ! Our mission is to save
souls and to help souls stay saved. We extend our
sincere love towards you and we encourage you to take
advantage of the opportunity to have a bible study with
members who are eager to study with you. If you do not
share our like faith, this bible study, as well as your visit
today, offers a two way opportunity: (1) We have the
chance to share with you the gospel of Jesus Christ and
the essential steps to salvation. (2) You have the chance
to hear, believe, repent, confess, and be baptized where-
by being added to the Church of Christ. We welcome
you to investigate what you hear and see today. You
will be able to ask your biblical questions and receive
biblical answers that will guide you to make an in-
formed, life changing decision. Thank you for being our
special guest! Please come again.

Did You Tell Someone About Jesus?
Matt. 28:19-20 is the great
commission given to members of
the body of Christ. As Christians,
it is our responsibility to Tell,
Talk and Teach others about
Jesus. Telling someone about
Christ will often open the door to
Talk with them about Him. You
can then Teach them or invite
them to Church where they can be
taught. We encourage each Chris-
tian to take advantage of such
opportunities. If you know of a
prospect, and for some reason
cannot conduct a personal Bible
study, please give their contact
information to Bro. and/or Sis.
Oliver or to one of our Leaders.
Welcome to the Family!!
