Louboutin began sketching shoes in his early teens, ignoring his academic studies. His little formal training included drawing and the decorative arts at the Académie d’Art Roederer.

Louboutin claims his fascination with shoes began in 1976 when

he visited the Musée national des Arts d’Afrique et d’Océanie on the Avenue Daumesnil in Paris. It was there that he saw a sign from Africa forbidding women wearing sharp stilettos from entering a building for fear of damage to the extensive wood flooring. He later used this in his designs. He wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered.

Christian Louboutin is the world-renowned French shoe designer whose shoes have incorporated shiny,

red-lacquered soles that have become his signature.

His trademark soles have become a “subtle status symbol.”

The most widely known signature mark of Louboutin shoes is the red lacquer soles, an idea that stemmed from another flash of insight he had. The designer was reviewing one of his fashion shows and, while satisfied with his product, he felt that something was still missing. As he was

mulling over his feeling, he happened

to catch sight of one of his employees’ red finger nail polish and he then reportedly exclaimed, “That’s it!” Since that day, every pair of Louboutin shoes has the signature red color on the soles.

AUTHENTIC

Most of the Christian Louboutin shoes are made of natural leather. Natural leather has pores so when you press your finger on the leather you will be able to see any dense grains. When you let go the grain should disappear. Reinforced materials are applied to the lining

of the shoe to prevent it from becoming deformed. The lining

materials ought to be soft, airy, and sweat absorbing. The quality of the manufacturing must be perfect. The seam needs to be tidy. There should be no thread breakages. Touch the inside of the shoes, for the parts that touch the feet, there ought to be no sages or crests. There has to be shoe pads inside. Put the shoes on a piece of glass or on a table to see if the shoes are steady. Louboutin’s will not shake. Check the red outsoles. The outsoles are bright red, and the color is natural and shining.
