Christ Glorified
I. JOHN’S INTRODUCTION
A. The title that John uses.
(Rev 1:9) I John, who also am
your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom
and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony
of Jesus Christ.
II. JOHN’S LOCATION
A.Geographically
(Rev 1:9) I John, who also am your brother, and companion in
tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in
the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and
for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
B. Spiritually
(Rev 1:10) I was in the Spirit on the
Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice,
as of a trumpet,
III. JOHN’S DESTINATION
Historically (These are 7 literal and historical churches of Asia Minor (Turkey) in 95 AD when the book was written.)
Inspirational (These churches represent the 7 characteristics of churches of today and the 7 strategies that Satan use to attack the church)
Doctrinally (Prophetical) (These churches represent the 7 periods of Church history from the book of Acts to the Rapture of the Church)
IV. JOHN’S FIXATION
A. He is fixated on IDENTITY of Christ
(Rev 1:12) AND I TURNED TO SEE
THE VOICE THAT SPAKE
WITH ME. And being turned, I
saw seven golden candlesticks;
HIS VOICE
(Joh 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God.
(Joh 1:14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among
us…(Gen 3:8) And they heard the
voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the
cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the
presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
B. He is fixated on POSITION of Christ
(Rev 1:12-13) And I turned to see the voice
that spake with me. And being turned, I
SAW SEVEN GOLDEN CANDLESTICKS;
AND IN THE MIDST OF THE SEVEN
CANDLESTICKS ONE LIKE UNTO THE SON OF MAN, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the
paps with a golden girdle.
C. He is fixated on CLOTHING of Christ
(Rev 1:12-13) And I turned to see the voice
that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden
candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the son of man, CLOTHED WITH A
GARMENT DOWN TO THE FOOT, AND GIRT
ABOUT THE PAPS WITH A GOLDEN
GIRDLE.
D. He is fixated on
7 fold GLORY of
Christ
1. HIS HEAD AND
HAIRS (Rev 1:14) HIS HEAD AND HIS HAIRS
WERE WHITE LIKE WOOL,
AS WHITE AS SNOW; and His eyes were as a flame of fire;
2. HIS EYES (Rev 1:14) His
head and his hairs were
white like wool, as white as
snow; and HIS EYES WERE AS A FLAME
OF FIRE;
3. HIS FEET (Rev 1:15)
AND HIS FEET LIKE UNTO
FINE BRASS, AS IF THEY
BURNED IN A FURNACE; and his voice as the sound of many
waters.
(Gen 3:15) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her
seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his
heel.(Zec 14:4) And his feet shall stand
in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on
the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there
shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
(Rev 14:19-20) And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine
of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and
blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a
thousand and six hundred furlongs.
(Rev 19:15) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
(Isa 63:1-6) Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the
greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I
have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my
fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For
the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered
that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my
fury, it upheld me. And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength
to the earth.
4. HIS VOICE (Rev 1:15) And
his feet like unto fine brass,
as if they burned in a
furnace; AND HIS VOICE AS THE SOUND OF MANY WATERS.
(Eze 43:1-2) Afterward he brought me to the gate,
even the gate that looketh toward the east: And, behold, the glory
of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice
was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
(Rev 14:2) And I heard a voice from
heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their
harps:
5. HIS HAND (Rev 1:16) AND
HE HAD IN HIS RIGHT HAND
SEVEN STARS: and out of his mouth went a
sharp twoedged sword: and his
countenance was as the sun shineth
in his strength.
(Rev 1:20) The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right
hand, and the seven golden candlesticks.
The seven stars are the angels of the
seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
(Rev 2:1) Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write…
(Rev 2:8) And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna
write…(Rev 2:12) And to the angel of
the church in Pergamos write…
(Rev 2:18) And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira
write…
(Rev 3:14-17) And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true
witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art
neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art
lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my
mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and
have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable,
and poor, and blind, and naked:
GUARDIAN ANGELS OF PEOPLE (Mat 18:10) Take heed that ye despise not one of these little
ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father
which is in heaven.GUARDIAN ANGELS OF NATIONS
(Dan 12:1) And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of
thy people...
6. HIS MOUTH (Rev 1:16) And he
had in his right hand seven stars: and OUT OF HIS MOUTH WENT A
SHARP TWOEDGED
SWORD: and his countenance was as the sun shineth
in his strength.
(Heb 4:12) For the word of God is
quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.
(1Pe 1:23) Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which liveth and abideth for
ever.
(Joh 12:48) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him: the word
that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day.
7. HIS Countenanc
e (Rev 1:16) And he had in his right
hand seven stars: and Out of his mouth went a
sharp twoedged sword: and HIS
COUNTENANCE WAS AS THE SUN SHINETH IN HIS
STRENGTH.
(Mal 4:1-2) For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh
shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness
arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and
grow up as calves of the stall.
(Zec 14:12) And this shall be the plague wherewith the
LORD will smite all the people that have fought against
Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and
their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and
their tongue shall consume away in their
mouth.
V. JOHN’S ELEVATION
(Eze 1:28) As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the
brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the
glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a
voice of one that spake.(Dan 8:17) So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand,
O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
(Mat 17:5-6) While he yet spake, behold, a bright
cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This
is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye
him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and
were sore afraid.
VI. JOHN’S DICTATION
(Rev 1:19) Write the things which thou hast
seen, and the things which are, and the
things which shall be hereafter;
(2Ti 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth.
1ST DOOR OPENS (Rev 4:1) After
this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was
as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up
hither, and I will shew thee things which must be
hereafter.
(Rev 19:11) And I saw heaven opened, and
behold a white horse; and he that sat upon
him was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and
make war.
