HE DID IT FOR YOU AND I

They sought false witness against himto put him to death

But they found none; yea though many witnesses came, they found none

He held his peace when he was slammed with false charges

Then they spat on his face and buffeted him

Others smote him with palms of their hands

They even valued him for thirty pieces of silver-He held his peace because of you

HE WAS VALUED FOR ALMOST NOTHING

AN ICONIC IDENTITY

But when they questioned his identity as the Son of God- He felt delighted with a thrilling victory, that pulled off the strong urge in him to identify himself properly even to the finest details. This was his motivation, his moment of triumph-his answer without doubt was thought provoking, enlightening, particularly symbolic and moving- He is saying to you now “I did this that you might have an identity” -Romans 8:32, II Corinth 5: 17-18, 20, Galatians 3: 26-27

OUR IDENTITY SATAN’S FRUSTRATION

It is difficult for our accuser the devil to

accept and acknowledge the

frustration that comes with being unable to alter who we are in

Christ. Hence he is so icky, when we are

identified by the mark of Christ Jesus. Our

iconic identity in Christ unmask the hollowness in the devil. Should I be

worried? Should you be?

Great Benefits of Having Christ Iconic Identity

• Our iconic identity as believers reflect the of image of God that is in Christ

• Our iconic identity enables us to see things from God’s viewpoint and or God’s perspective-Romans 10: 9,

OUR OLD MAN IS CRUCIFIED

• Because we now have an identity that is justified by grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus we are no longer helplessly overstretched by sin and the natural inclinations to sin knowing that our old man is crucified -Romans 6:6, 8: 9-10, I Corinth 2: 11-14, Galatians 5:16

OUR PATHETIC PAST TO NEWNESS OF LIFE

• Our iconic identity gives us the chance to break links with and wash away our pathetic past and shame of regrets and walk in the newness of life-Romans 6: 4• The truth is internalised in us because of Christ iconic identity in us

GOD AND FORGIVENESS• It is absolutely beautiful to view and see God as relational and not just religious-the fact it could easily be both at the same time, you realise just how fantastic and amazing this is-as originally intended. We now have a better knowledge of or desire to understand what it actually means to be joint heirs with Christ-An identity that has saturated us with love and mercy -Romans 8: 14-18, Ephesians 5:2,7,8 Colossians 1: 12, 14, 19-22

OUR IDENTITY EVOLVES FROM CHRIST

• Forgiveness is innate in us because of Christ iconic identity and we now own a new heart at the epicentre of our body-Romans 12: 17-21

• The host of heaven can now listen to the awesomeness of our bona fide tunes and songs that have their roots in heaven, as we sing or hear the glimpses of our conversation as we talk to our father-because of an identity that evolves from Christ

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that do weep.Pray for Christians worldwide undergoing persecution. Rejoice in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing in prayer.

May the spirit of the LORD be with you, may he strengthen you and enlighten the hope of his calling in you and may he illuminate your understanding of the gospel which you have been called to preach and teach in Jesus name Amen.
