Christ Community Church Building on the Word

A Gradual Return To Normal Sunday Mornings involves taking personal responsibility for your own health AND serving one another in love: respect the comfort level of those around you. If you’re sick, please stay home. If you’re in one of the most vulnerable categories, consider staying home. 10:30 services will be streamed on our YouTube channel.

Next Week - Return To Normal Schedule Star ting next Sunday, September 6, we will meet together for one worship service in the sanctuary at 10:30. Christian education for all ages will meet from 9:00 to 10:10. Based on the poll we took a few weeks ago, part of the sanctuary will be designated social distance seating and part standard seating. If you are comfortable sitting in standard seating, please do so; in this way we will be able to accommodate all who want to come without using overflow seating elsewhere. Thanks to all who gave us feedback on this question. And thanks to ushers, guards, nursery volunteers, music team and tech crew for extra time and effort to do two services this summer.

Willing To Serve On The Nominating Committee CCC annually elects elders and standing committee members at its February meeting. Responsible for presenting candidates is a nominating committee consisting of one elder, one deacon, one person appointed by the senior pastor, and two elected by the congregation (usually at the midyear meeting in August). These three members of our church have agreed to have their names considered for those two slots: Azucena Ayala Moreno, Sue Lehman, and Heather Patenaude. Members will select two of them by written ballot this morning, August 30.

Fish Eyes

It’s a routine morning in a small fishing town. We meet two brothers - fishermen who had a poor catch last night. They have no idea their lives are about to change with regard to their fishing and the rest of their lives.

The story of Jesus and the disciples has fascinated us for two thousand years. Fish Eyes is another look at how this God-man affected the world, and specifically, two very human men along the way - Peter and Andrew.

It's humorous, identifiable, simple, moving...and true.

Tired Of Being Christian? That would describe the first readers of Hebrews. The preacher who addresses them in this written sermon doesn’t pretend their struggles are trivial

or scold them. He reminds them of the glory of Christ and the privilege of hanging in there with him. Starting next week, we’ll hear his Jesus-exalting, Christian-encouraging sermon. Suggestion: read Hebrews this week. It will take you just over an hour.
