Lil- ley believes only those who ‘‘don’t get’’ his humour will be offended. Lilley found the S.mouse character one of his big- gest challenges; he wrote and composed the songs in Angry Boys and had to per- form to a live audience. How S.mouse is received in the US (it will screen on HBO) remains to be seen. ‘‘It’s more about the send-up of the (hip-hop) in- dustry and that world. It’s not really about black peo- ple, in a way.
