Chris Larson Named MCC’s

PGA Head Golf Professional

Moorhead Country Club is pleased to announce the hiring of our

new Head Golf Professional, Chris Larson. Chris, a North Fargo

na�ve, has served as MCC’s Assistant Golf Professional for the past

nine years under the direc�on of re�ring PGA Professional, Larry

Murphy. A graduate of Kansas State University in Golf Course

Management, Chris con�nued his pre-professional program at

Carnous�e Golf Resort, Carnous�e Scotland, Pebble Beach Golf

Links, Pebble Beach, CA, and Golden Valley Golf & Country Club,

Golden Valley, MN before joining the MCC Golf Shop staff in 2008.

Chris resides in Fargo with his wife Crystal and his two daughters Adia (7) and Evelyn (4).

First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for all of the supportive

phone calls, texts and emails along with the numerous well wishes I

received through the entire hiring process. It means the world to myself

and my family to know that I have the support of so many at Moorhead

Country Club. And what an honor and an incredibly humbling

experience it is to become the 4th PGA Head Golf Professional at MCC. To follow the consummate PGA

professional, Larry Murphy comes with a heavy heart as he has been a tremendous role model and great influence

on not only my professional life but my personal life as well. My focus is to pay homage to the steep tradition he

instilled and promote our quality golf programming and service to which I believe elevate our club above others. We

have so many great things planned for 2017 already and I believe we are building a great momentum heading into

next golf season. I offer the kindest regards and the sincerest thank you to the entire MCC Family!

Dear MCC Members,

Julie and I want to thank you for the wonderful Retirement Open House you provided for

us on Saturday, December 10. The entire afternoon was humbling and overwhelming. The

invitation and attendance of many of our past Assistant Golf Professionals was very special to us.

The continued support and attendance from the MCC membership that afternoon was very

humbling. The golf community attendance and support that day was overwhelming.

A very special thank you to Michelle Horan, Chris Larson, Nick Burington and the staff at

MCC for planning this very special day for Julie, myself and our family. The club looked beautiful

and the food was fantastic.

Thank you to Darren Dunlop for being the always excellent Master Of Ceremonies. Thank

you to Chris Larson for the special presentation and kind words. Thank you to Andy Dumas for

his kind remarks and the announcement of the name change of the MCC Member-Guest to “The

Murph”. That honor, in itself, means the world to our family. Then add the bagpipes to that

announcement and there was not a dry eye in the Murphy family. Thank you to Past President

Jonathan Matter for his kind remarks and presentation of a Lifetime Membership for Julie and Me

to MCC. Thank you to the MCC Board of Directors for the entire day and the Members of

Moorhead Country Club for the gifts.

Time goes by very quickly and these 47 years have just flown by! I am a very fortunate

person to have been employed at MCC and worked for this great membership. We are also very

blessed to have been surrounded by so many incredibly talented people in our Golf Shop. We are

extremely proud of each and every one of them and their accomplishments in their lives.

Julie and I say “Thank You” to Moorhead Country Club for allowing us to “Live Our

Dream” each and every day at MCC. We will miss each of you. We look forward to seeing you

on the golf course!
