CHOOSING YOUR DOCTOR

You may see your primary care provider (PCP) or an obstetrician (OB—a doctor who specializes in pregnancy care) for your prenatal care. It is important that during your pregnancy you ask your provider if he or she will also be caring for your baby after you give birth.

Please choose and contact your doctor(s) as soon as you learn you are pregnant to begin your prenatal care. Pick your doctor early in your pregnancy so that your doctor is familiar with you and ready to care for you during your whole pregnancy and at your delivery. Should you need help with this process, please contact our Member Services department at 1-888-460-0185.

It is important to notify your caseworker when your baby is born so that your newborn can be enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan. If you don’t have a caseworker, call OHP Central at 800-699-9075.
