Here’s a three-part strategy to help yourself or the young person in your life choose the right

subjects:

The three things young people should consider doing to prep for GCSE

and the future

1) Let’s get prayerful!

Let’s teach our young people to approach this subject spiritually, prayerfully, telling

them about God’s promises regarding their future

Psalm 25

The Lord will instruct them in the ways they should choose… The LORD confides in

those who fear him;

2) Get to know yourself better!

Encourage your young person to take some time out to simply find out what they really

enjoy doing.

The bible tells us that it is God who places the deep desires on our heart (Psalm 37) to

do something. So, even if you don’t yet know your future career, you can let a deep

desire to do a particular subject to be your guide.

God will never call us to a specific career that goes against the skills, personality type

that he’s given us.

There are some useful packages out there that can help us to make a simple

assessment of their likes and skills and then offers a best-fit career direction
