Look for someone who loves Jesus first. Luke 14:26

Parameters — Whom will you date? Purpose — Why are you dating?

"Dating without the intent of getting married is like going to the grocery store with no money. You either leave unsatisfied or you take something that isn't yours."

What are you looking for?Specific Guidelines for Girls: 1. Does he speak respectfully to and about his parents? 2. Does he pray in the restaurant? 3. Is he careful in his entertainment choices? 4. Does he avoid physical compromises in our relationship? 5. Does he like to talk about the Scriptures? 6. Is there someone he is trying to convert to Christ?

7. Does he sing out in worship? 8. Does he take notes during the sermon? 9. Does he like to sit toward the front in worship? 10. Does he avoid alcoholic beverages? 11. Does he control his anger and avoid profanity? 12. Is he a faithful Christian?

Does she avoid physical compromises in our relationship? 5. Does she like talking about the Scriptures? 6. Is there someone she is trying to convert to Christ?

7. Does she sing out in worship? 8. Does she take notes during the sermon? 9. Does she like to sit toward the front in worship? 10. Does she avoid alcoholic beverages? 11. Does she dress modestly? 12. Is she discreet about sexual matters? 13. Is she a faithful Christian?

Specific Guidelines for Boys:

What if I’m trying to study with him or her?

Two options – Study with him or her. Get out of that relationship.

1. Talk about it every time you are together. 2. Measure their progress. 3. Be the leader. 4. Be ready to pull the plug.

What if …

What if there are no Christian prospects?Find some! Christian schools, Camp, PTP, Youth Events Convert someone to Jesus!

1. Be a steward of this time in your life. 2. Listen to outside opinions. 3. Work together. 4. Pray together. 5. Be honest and transparent. 6. Invest in her or her family. 7. Practice selfless and sacrificial love. 8. Flee sexual immorality. 9. Never rely on any person to give what only God provides. 10.Ask God for wisdom, then study His word.
