2017-2018Campus Living & Learning wants you to be prepared for the Choose Your Own Room process, so please review the information below about how to successfully Choose Your Own Room.

The Choose Your Own Room Process! Get to the Housing Application by selecting

“Academic Year 2017-2018”

! Go to the Rooms page

! Select Room Search Wizard

! Select the community for which you have been approved

! Select your desired floor

! Select the desired room number

! Select a bed in your chosen room

! If applicable, place your roommate from the Roommate Matching system in the other space (A or B)

Choose Your Own Room Guide

1. Select your community! You can only pick from communities that you have been

approved for.

! You are most likely only approved for one community, possibly two if you picked First Year Experience as your first preference.

! Compare approved communities and available buildings.

! You can only select a room in a community for which you have been approved.

2. Select your desired floor ! Choose between the available floors. Please take note

of the community type.

! Not all buildings are 100% one community. Some communities are housed only on one floor or partial floors so please look at the community name on the floor.

4. Select your bed ! Place yourself into one of the beds within the room.

! If applicable, place your roommate (it will show their screen name) from the Roommate Matching system in the other space (A or B).

If you do not have a roommate, you can browse other students who have already been assigned by clicking View Profile

3. Select the desired room ! View room details by clicking the Magnifying Glass

including: Floor Plan, View, Room Type, Flooring, Windows, and Dimensions

Use the available map to locate rooms on the floor. Use floor features such as the restroom location to determine your desired room.

! If you are picking a suite for multiple roommates then you man need to pick multiple rooms in step 3.

5. Select a different room ! If you later find a different room in your approved community

where you would rather live, you may change your room selection until midnight on May 25, 2017.

! Don’t forget to consult with your roommate(s) about changing your selection.

! If you change rooms you will also need to reassign your roommate just as you did the first time.

! Within Room Swap, you will keep your current (original) booking until you finish the Room Swap.

7. Meet your roommate ! Your assigned roommate(s) information, including their

self written description and their answers to the matching questions is viewable in several locations within the My Housing Portal on the following pages:

6. View your assignment! Your assignment is viewable in several locations within the My

Housing Portal on the following pages:
