Wellow Cottage“We have lived in Wellow Cottage for 32 years. We bought it just before we got married and have raised our three boys here. It has been a lovely family home and we will be very sad to leave.”

“Over the years we have gradually made improvements, including a two-storey extension, which features a nice sunny sitting room, and a good-sized bedroom. We have tried to make it as sympathetic as possible to the original cottage, and feel it matches the character of the original property very well,” says Caroline.

“Our home is a traditional country cottage, packed with character; with its oak beams, window seats, stone mullion windows, and little nooks and crannies. The thick walls mean it’s cool in summer and warm and cosy in the winter. There are also two large original Inglenook fireplaces, which create a lovely focus to the rooms.”

“The village of Marshfield is very popular as it is a traditional Cotswold village, within easy reach of Bath, the motorway and railway stations. We have a very good school and pre-school, butchers, general stores, post office, doctors, and lots of social activities for all ages, so it’s perfect.”

“I think Wellow Cottage would be suited for a wide variety of people as it’s in a nice quiet spot where, on the one hand you can walk out of the door and straight into open countryside with plenty of footpaths suitable for long country walks, and on the other hand, it is only a few minutes level stroll from all the facilities the village has to offer,” Caroline concludes.
