I’m currently a third year student studying Design For Industry at Northumbria University. I’m a British born Chinese who’s very interested in languages, I have a background in French back at High School. I also have the passion to learn of new cultures and asserting its identity in design, especially in the East-Asian culture where my family orignates from.

This first year project involves us to focus on detailing rather than the form and achieving the best results from the number of components rather than the entity of the product

To design forms for salt and pepper dispensers without it being too illusive with the defining ‘S’ and ‘P’.

To design forms for salt and pepper dispensers without it being too illusive with the defining ‘S’ and ‘P’ further continued.

A group project that involced us to design an interactive toy that may replace the curent toys today, targetting age groups of 10+. This was our very first group project and I found it challenging as everyone had different opinions and objections to things.

A very inspirational project, we were set a time limit to complete a series of chocolate which highlight the factors of taste, shape and texture without using the obvious colours and detailing. The project was very challenging but very benificial as it puts you on the spot to produce results.

Four individual game pieces which belongs to the same set but shows difference in hierarchy. Here I played on with the hierarchy of status, adding humour with a family of four. All pieces must be able to stand alone and be recognized as a set of four.

This project is intended for us to develop individual appreciation in form making. I fully enjoyed this project as there were no boundaries developing our concepts. The project also allowed me to develop my analytical skills through communication of my model making

A project that requires me to make a 3 dimensional object using 4 or more unique parts to accurately represent the object using Solidworks
![Page 14: Ching Shek Portfolio](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022042516/568bef8b1a28ab89338c8b20/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
First live group project, we were asked to design 3 concepts of portable speakers which can sit in the current market

Some elements I looked at were the aspect of unpackaging as its just as important and valuable as the product itself

The task of this project was to design a collection of pens which can be recognized via set of pens through its form or theme
