After taking a look at the infographic above, it's needless to say, but you absolutely need to register your trademarksin China before anyone else does!
Registering your trademark abroad is not enough to protect you. If large MNCs aren't safe from China's 'first-to-file'system, what makes you think that you should take any chances?
At the end of the day, making trademark registration a priority for your company (and doing so well in advance ofyour arrival in China) is by far the safest option.
Once you do so you can enjoy a 10 year period of protection where litigation in the matter of your trademark willactually hold up in a Chinese court.
