The Great wall of china

1. The great Wall of china began in the 7th century B.C . The Great Wall of China is six thousand miles long.

2. It was planed by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang . He ordered thousands of solders to billed it .

3. It was built to protect his people from invaders. The wall follows the sides and ridges of mountains, twists and turns.

4. The wall is known by many people . The wall can be viewed from space so if there are living crèches in space the wall is known to them.

The forbidden city

1. The Forbidden City began in 1406 and took 14 years to complete (by hand) .

2. It stands exactly in the centre of Beijing where the Olympics are being held and is surrounded by 10m high walls .

3. The forbidden City contains 9,999 buildings, so it is easy to get lost . The city was built for the Chinese solders . That is where they are buried .

The Terracotta Army

• The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 . More than 7,000 life-size terracotta figures of warriors, horses and chariots were made from a mixture of clay and earth.

• After Emperor Qin Shi Huang died allot of Chinese people made all those solders for him

Chinese new year

It Starts with the New Moon on the first day of the New Year Ending with children displaying lanterns on the fifteenth day. Chinese New Year lasts as long as 15 days. The fifteenth day is known as "The Lantern Day". Where there is a parade of children holding lanterns . New Year in China usually means a family gets together. Traditionally New Year in China were marked with a religious ceremony given in honor of Heaven and Earth .
