LocationChile is a country on the south-western side of South America.

It's bordered by Peru to the north, Bolivia to the north-east, Argentina to the east, the south-east, and the South Pacific Ocean.

FLAG OF CHILEThe national flag of Chile consists of two unequal horizontal bands of white, red and a blue square the same height as the white band in the canton, which bears a white five-pointed star in the center.

COAT OF ARMS OF CHILE

It is made up by a figurative background divided in two equal parts: the top one is blue and the bottom, red. A five pointed white star is in the centre of the shield. This background is supported in one side by a condor, the most significant bird of prey from the Andes, and in the other, by a huemul, a singular and rare mammal of the Chilean territory. Both animals have in their heads the navy's golden crown, symbol of the heroic deeds of the Chilean Navy in the Pacific Ocean.

Chilean food uses an assortment of seafood, beef, fruits, and vegetables. Traditional recipes include asado, cazuela, empanadas, humitas, pastel de choclo, pastel de papas, curanto and sopaipillas. Crudos is an example of the mixture of culinary additions from the various ethnic groups in Chile. Onions were brought by the Spanish colonists, and the use of mayonnaise and yogurt was introduced by German immigrants, as was beer.
