Initiation and Priorities
Children Village is located in Vemavaram, 20 KM from
Vijayawada
• January 2008 with 7 children
• Admit both boys and girls
• Do not have sibling separation
• Maintain contact with extended family
• Pursue for property rights

• Children affected and
living with HIV and AIDS
• Children those who lost
either or both of the
parents
• Children abandoned
Chinni 2nd class affected with HIV/AIDS
Food & Shelter…
• Currently provides shelter to 20 children
Life Style…
• Advocate self sufficiency. Plantations of leafy vegetables,
tomatoes, bananas, vegetables, etc
• Maintains dignity of labor
• Children do their own work according to their age like cleaning their
plates, doing gardening, etc.
Schooling…
• All the children attend government schools
• Promotes discipline and enthusiasm towards
education among children
• Conduct study sessions in
the evening with a tutor to
help the kids

Challenges
• Loneliness for some children
• Unable to overcome of the trauma of loosing the family
• Due to children being affected with HIV/AIDS, need good
attention to health. Coordinator Samson gets occupied with
taking them to hospital. Need a nurse.
• Security becomes important as adolescent girls stay in the
home
• Donor’s priorities are changing leading to withdrawal of
funds
• Need better residential care and nutritional support vs.
paucity of funds
