FROM THE PASTOR
I am so thankful that you have chosen to worship with us today at FBC
Winnfield. I hope that you will take a moment if you are new to FBC and
fill out the Connection Card located in the back of the pew. This card will
help us get to know how we can better serve you and your family. We want
you here!
It is always special when God’s people meet together during a time of
public worship. However, today is an extra special day as we get to
observe the two ordinances of the church. This morning, we celebrate life
transformation through believers’ baptism. Baptism doesn't create salvation
only faith in Christ through repentance brings salvation. Nevertheless, the
Bible teaches that people who belong to Jesus Christ should identify with
Him publicly by baptism. It is an outward statement of an inward
commitment. Today, I am excited to see people unashamedly declaring
that they belong to Jesus. The second ordinance of the church is the Lord’s
Supper, also called communion. This sacred supper reminds us of our
victorious Christ who laid down his life to give us new life. I hope as we
move through this service, you will encounter the life-changing love of
Jesus for you. Thanks again for being here today.

If you are interested in being a part of a future mission opportunity to Haiti,
please attend an informational meeting in the sanctuary tonight at 4:30.
Keep Moving Forward,
Pastor Steven Smithson
