Students also served food and beverages. At the end of this fun day each kid left with a present that is age appropriate and brought espe- cially for him. Jesus in Surah Mariam KNES pupils visited the Sewage Treatment Plant in Kabd, Kuwait. This trip provided a firsthand sight on sew- age treatment processes. Our pupils got experience about the main phases of the treatment and also they shared their knowledge and understanding of the sewage treatment that have learned in their biology lessons. An assistant engineer of the plant took our pupils around the plant and explained the different phases of the sewage treatment. There are three main phases for sewage treatment. In the primary phase the sewage is treating aerobically using a variety of bacteria including salmonella. In phase 2 sludge (biomass) separating by sedimentation (settling) and the sludge obtained at this stage is used as fertilisers. In phase 3 further filtration and add- ing chlorine to kill the germs. Variety of cultural programs including Live Orchestra lead by versatile singer Abjijith Kollam, Pat-turumal fame Akash, Mylanchi win-ner Keerthana, astonishing comedy by Siraj Payyoli and Saji Ochira and Kozhikodan Mehfi l by Rafi Kallai and Sameer Vellayil attracted and enthralled the audience.

Variety of dances were also at-tracted the audience including Inter-national Philippine Dance Band ‘Next Episode Kuwait,’ Upasana School of Dance, Break House, Zero Gravity and KDNA Woman’s fusion dance and Oppna.

The entire event were controlled and guided by Malabar Maholsavam Program committee, KDNA Execu-tive, Area/Unit offi ce bearers.

The purpose driven annual camp for Indian students — Venalthanima 2016 — a three-day personality de-velopment & leadership training workshop organized by THANIMA, is all set to kick-off at Thanima Cen-tre, Kabd on March 31 until April 2. This year’s theme is ‘Symphony of Senses’.

Inter-active and activity oriented training sessions by experts on di-verse topics, outdoor activities etc., are planned.

The Camp will offer a fantabu-lous camping experience that will further develop the independence, self-esteem and life-long friend-ship amongst each of the campers,

besides giving an opportunity to pursue new interests, develop fit-ness, sports skills and social com-mitment.

Participants will be divided into 3 Groups based on their age — Sub Juniors (Class 4 and 5), Juniors (Class 6-8 ) and Seniors ( Class 9-12). The number of participants

in each Group is limited to 40 maxi-mum.

The Student Council and the National Honor Society at Al Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) held their fourth annual fun day for Al Amal Club in Hawally’s campus for 52 cancer fi ghters to show their support to them and to contribute

in helping them fi nd hope, faith and joy. During the event, students pro-vided the fi ghters with a fun-fi lled and exciting atmosphere that includes dif-ferent kind of sports games and enter-tainment. Students also served food

and beverages. At the end of this fun day each kid left with a present that is age appropriate and brought espe-cially for him.

This initiative validates a live educa-tional and a positive platform to grow

the students’ sense of respect, com-passion and kindness towards others. We thank all the contributors and the hardworking volunteers for making those kids day a really fun day!

KNES pupils visited the Sewage Treatment Plant in Kabd, Kuwait. This trip provided a fi rsthand sight on sew-age treatment processes. Our pupils got experience about the main phases of the treatment and also they shared their knowledge and understanding

of the sewage treatment that have learned in their biology lessons.

An assistant engineer of the plant took our pupils around the plant and explained the different phases of the sewage treatment. There are three main phases for sewage treatment.

In the primary phase the sewage is treating aerobically using a variety of bacteria including salmonella. In phase 2 sludge (biomass) separating by sedimentation (settling) and the sludge obtained at this stage is used as fertilisers.

In phase 3 further fi ltration and add-ing chlorine to kill the germs.

This visit helped our pupils to deep-ening their understanding about the sewage treatment which will help them to work toward The Big Tree So-ciety Project.
