Amidst India’s glowing success and growing prosperity there is a hidden India in which a segment of deprived children is growing up parentless and uncared. This holocaust is waging a silent war against millions of Indian children who are choiceless and voiceless.
A non-profit social organization registered under Society Registration Act XXI of 1860.
It’s an unique venture in the field of rehabilitation of parentless children.
Adruta provides ideal ambience to the children in need of care & protection so that the latent potentialities in them get unfolded, they grow into excellence and become prized assets of our society.
There are 11 chapters of Adruta Home across the state of Odisha with 450 children under its care and nurture.
Children are restored in the Homes as young as newborns and shall remain as part of family till the age of 22 years after they get foothold in life. Boys and girls live in separate homes after they attain five years.
§ To provide requisite nutrition and a suitable habitat to grow.
§ To provide holistic education for all round development (physical, mental & spiritual) of a child.
§ To explore and exploit the unique natural dispositions and abilities in the children through special training in Art, Music, Dance, Sports etc.
§ To provide skill-based training in Fine Art, Craft, Tailoring, Embroidery, Food Processing etc. for self sustainability in future.
Ensure holistic growth, self-reliance and help them grow into self role-models in the mainstream society.
Focus on rescue, nurture, and rehabilitation of girl children.
There is emphasis on holistic development- Physical, psychic & spiritual.
Each child gets a supportive environment for optimal expression of his/her innate potentiality.
Children are not given old garments lest they develop any complex.
SADHANA Morality is the base. Sadhana is the way. Life divine is the goal. Human existence is trifarious- physico-psycho-spiritual.
Children do meditation in the morning and evening.
YOGA
Spiritual upliftment calls for a healthy body and sound mind. Yogic postures tone up the body and mind making room for spiritual pursuit.
Yoga also helps the kids to stay connected with cultural roots.
SENTIENT DIET As is the body, so is the mind. Psychic expansion and spiritual elevation require sentient (sattvic) physical base.
At Adruta children are provided lacto-vegetarian diet for the wholesome growth of body and mind.
Collective dining makes interpersonal bonding more intimate.
EDUCATION
Adruta children are provided with conducive ambience to pursue their studies. They have proved their excellence not only in academics but also looked upon as exemplars of values in their alma mater by teachers and friends.
SPORTS & MARTIAL ART
Sports is more than physical exercise. It affords constructive diversions during leisure hours. At Adruta children enjoy facilities for indoor and outdoor games. It keeps them physically fit, promotes team spirit and instills confidence. Children have bagged coveted awards in the field of Sports and Martial Art.
MUSIC
Art nourishes the heart. Music especially exalts the mind and transports one from the mundane to the supra-mundane.
Children learn classical music under the expert tutelage of teachers.
ODISSI DANCE & FLOCK DANCE
Adruta troupe have found a niche in the hearts of connoisseurs for their exquisite performance of Odissi dance and Folk dance in National Festivals and in different cities of India and abroad. Child artists of Adruta have earned international acclaim by their overseas performance at New York, Chicago, Seattle, California, Houston, Singapore and across Malaysia and Indonesia.
EXTRA CURRICULAR
Besides learning classical music and dance children learn basic computer skills, tailoring, embroidery, keep the home clean, work in the garden and serve the cows.
VOCATIONAL
At Adruta Children are imparted vocational skill in the tailoring, embroidery, Toy-making, handicrafts etc to empower them to be self-reliant later.
BIRTHDAY
Collective birthday is celebrated on the day of Raksha-Bandhan (Sravani Purnima) with great zest and fervor. Patrons and sympathizers join the collective dining and gala events on this festive day.
Received the Excellency Award, 2006 in the field of Social Action as a model children home in the Country.
Received Think Odisha Leadership Award by The Times of India Group in 2015 in Social Sector.
Duly recognized by Department of Women and Child Welfare under Juvenile Justice Act, Govt. of Odisha.
Govt. of India have extended the provision of Tax exemption under 80G & Sec 10(23C) (IV) of Income Tax Act.
Duly registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), Dept. of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.
The artists of Adruta Children Home have brought laurels by their superb performance of Odishi & Folk dance in different cities of India in prestigious festivals.
They performed Odissi dance and Folk dance of Odisha at New York,Chicago, Seattle in 2013. The troupe performed at Singapore and across Malaysia in 2014.
In course of a month long South East Asia tour 2016, they performed at Singapore and Malaysia- Kuala Lumpur, Pennag, Sungaipetani, Batugajah, Ipoh and at Singaraja, Denpasar (Bali).
In the month long tour to USA in June and July’2016, the artists of Adruta performed at Kirkland, Seattle, ISKCON, Seattle, Cubberly Theatre at Palo Alto, San Francisco and at India Centre, Houston.

Dr. Aditya Kumar Mohanty Founder Chairman
Dr.Mohanty, hailing from an humble dwelling in a village of Odisha, with brilliant academic career, has been all along a teacher, committed to the mission of man-making. Presently, Professor of Philosophy at Central University, Tripura (India) he has a consuming passion to serve the deprived, unprivileged and marginalized.
Dr Sagarika Misra Director Dr.Sagarika Mishra, having Doctoral degree in Philosophy, did forgo her career in order to serve the cause of the children in need of care and protection. She discharges her twin responsibility as Principal of RAWA Academy and as Director of Adruta Children Home with passion and zeal. She is known for high sense of discipline and administrative knack. At the same time the children have found their mother in her.
Supriti Mohanty Secretary & Chief Coordinator Ms. Supriti Mohanty, a Post Graduate in Philosophy, has an eventful track record as the captain of Odisha Women Handball team. She represented the state in many a time in Sports event across India. Her honesty, sincerity and diligence is proverbial. She is the role-model for other senior activist in the state. As a key functionary of the organization she is completely focused on addressing the cause of children in distress.
Gayatri Tripathy
Secretary Public Relations
Ms. Gayatri Tripathy, a Post Graduate in History, is known for her innovative entrepreneurship. Having decided to forgo the lucrative avenues in her career she is completely devoted to promote the cause of children who otherwise languish in deprivation, neglect and destitution. As the public relation functionary she has contributed substantially to link the organization with likeminded people, institutions and corporate houses.
