It should be noted that the tables do not include 287

children adaitted to St. Patrick'l H~ Dublin during

1918. All theae were children of unaarried .athera,

awaiting adoption. The Depart .. nt 11 very grateful

to all those concerned 1n coapleting and forwarding the

foraa. It la hoped that the attached tables will prove

uaeful in providing inforaat1on of both national and

local 1ntereat.

c~nta -.de by the Progr .... Managers, Senior Social

Workera and Children•• Officer• on the fo~ attached at

Appendix A. It ia hoped to replace the ex1ating twice

yearly ayat .. of collecting inforaat1on on children in care

with thia new aore coaprehenaive .. thod. The 1nfor .. t1on

collected on children in care in 1979 or eoaing into care

during that year will be widely diatributed.
