Children and YoungPeople’s Workforce
Occupational profile To develop knowledge and skills relating to the Children and Young People’s Workforce (i.e. those working with children aged 0-19, primarily within Early Learning & Childcare, Children’s Social Care, Residential Childcare). Valued professionals who play a key role in ensuring that young people learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. You can play a key role in supporting the early education and care of young children in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools and child minding.
Typical dutiesn Support and promote children’s early education and
developmentn Plan and provide effective care, teaching and learning
that enables children to progress and prepares them for school
n Make accurate and productive use of assessmentn Develop effective and informed practicen Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare
of childrenn Work in partnership with the key person, colleagues,
parents and/or carers or other professionals

Entry requirementsNo mandatory entry requirements but applicants must be in a suitable job role, have basic maths and English skills and demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude in a work environment.
