Child Restraint with Lifestyle in Thailand: A case study of

Background:
Road traffic accidents is the second most common cause of death among Thai children after drowning.
There is very little use of child restraint in Thailand.
Therefore, we were established the promotion of child restraint use among postpartum.
Objectives:
1) To study the problem of child restraint use.
2) To build participation focuses on promoting child restraint use and child safety.
Methods:
Methods: The participation action research (PAR) was
conducted during November 2014 to April 2015.
Methods:
The process of implementation consists of four steps;
1) collecting data; basic data, comments and lifestyle of child restraint use
2) organized the practical training in the use of child restraint and user manuals

3) support and distribution of child restraint to volunteer after birth
4) organized the meeting for knowledge exchange, monitoring and evaluation via telephone every 2 months.
Results:
participating parents agreed that the use of child restraint fits the lifestyle in Thailand

Results:

Results:
90% of participating parents have used the child restraint continuously child safety,
comfort,
decreased anxiety
Participations have aware about child restraint. However, they didn't use the child restraint always. Because:
Using the car with another person
Grandparent wanted holding a child.
Children had crying during use child restraint.
The important factor that influence purchasing decisions a child restraint is the price of product.
Results:
“I will buy, but it’s very expensive. The neighbors want use child restraint, then they known the price. They can’t buy it.
And if the price is decline, they aren’t sure for buying, because they have the cost in our life
Conclusions:
Participation of knowledge exchange among participants, who have the same experience leading to improving and supporting good cognitive behavior
Conclusions:
public participation to raise awareness of child safety.
