Academic News Math- In Math class, students are analyzing proportional
relationships and using them to solve real-world and
mathematical problems. Please make sure your child is
completing assigned homework daily, and check for updated
grades on Powerschool weekly.
Reading –The Seventh Graders are continuing work with
their novel, Hatchet. Students will be working in literature
groups and completing many assignments while working
together in groups. The next 3 Week Assessment will be Friday,
Dec. 16th. It will cover the topics of Irony, Theme, and
Character Motivation.
Applied LA – In Applied Language Arts, students are
studying the events of the American Revolution. Students will
become experts on the battles, help from foreign countries, and
strategies the Americans used. They will also look at the
hardships faced by those who served.
Science – This week we are starting chapter 3. Chapter 3 is
about energy. It is an exciting chapter with a lot of labs. I
assigned your child's chapter 3 project on Tuesday. It is due on
Monday. Have a great weekend.

Fine arts/Clubs/Sports/Intramurals Art- 7th grade students are trying to finish their stain glass names...seems to be going longer then we thought and hopefully will be moving on to making Christmas Cards for our local Nursing Home...this is something we have been doing for 7 years now! Spanish- Students have been studying the numbers in Spanish, they will learn to count to 100 and potentially 1000! Ask them to count for you!
PE– In PE, we are finishing up our last week of the volleyball unit. Students have gotten into teams and will be playing in a round robin tournament this week. Students are focusing on using the skills of passing, setting, spiking, and serving. The games have certainly become competitive! Looking ahead students will be taking a field trip to the Bulls/Sox Academy on Tuesday December 13th to have an 'ultimate fitness experience.' Please look for more details to come that will be sent home with your child.
