Chidori­gakeThe name Chidori-gake istaken from the little Chidoribird (plover, sanderling).Chidori birds walk in azigzag pattern, so steppingstone paths with an offsetpattern are named afterthem.

Gan­uchiThe literal translation is"flying geese strike". Alonger zigzag pattern,which is said to look likegeese in flight.
