NOTE-A-BULL FOR TONIGHT

Coby White has scored a career-high 33 points in each of his last two games. Since 2000-01, the only player to produce a 30-point streak of at least three games during their rookie campaign is Atlanta’s Trae Young in three consecutive contests from Feb. 25-March 1, 2019.

TEAM NOTE-A-BULLS

Chicago is forcing the opposition to the turn the ball over a league-best 18.2 times per game this season. Bulls opponents have committed 20-or-more turnovers in 19 games this season, the most such occurrences in the league.

As a team, the Bulls have totaled 1,000 deflections this season, which are the most in the league.

Chicago is first in the league in both points off turnovers per game (21.1) and total points off turnovers (1,224). The next closest team in total points off turnovers is Toronto (1,152).

On Sunday, the Bulls recorded 15 steals, representing their league-leading 31st game with at least 10 steals this season. The 31 such games are the most Chicago has had in single season since also producing 31 such contests in 1996-97.

The first half on Sunday saw Chicago put up 73 points, good for the team’s highest scoring opening half since 81 first-half points at Milwaukee on April 14, 2008.

Saturday saw the Bulls hold the Suns to .333 (10-30) shooting from beyond the arc, good for the team’s 30th game in which they have held the opposition to a 3-point field goal percentage of .350-or-less this season. The 30 contests are the fourth-most in the East trailing Miami (32), Indiana (31) and Toronto (31).

Fifty-two of Chicago’s points on Thursday came in the paint, what was then the team’s fourth straight contest with at least 50 points in the paint dating back to Feb. 6 against New Orleans. The streak has since ended. Since Jan. 1, the Bulls are averaging 52.7 points in the paint per game, which leads the Eastern Conference and ranks third in the league behind the Grizzlies (60.7) and the Lakers (54.4).

PLAYER NOTE-A-BULLS

Knocking down six of his attempts from beyond the arc on Sunday, Zach LaVine raised his season total to 177 3-point field goals, a new single-season franchise record, breaking Ben Gordon’s record of 173 threes set in 2008-09.

LaVine (32 points), White (33) and Thaddeus Young (25) each scored 25-plus points on Sunday, the first time three Chicago players each produced 25-point performances in a single game since LaVine (47), Lauri Markkanen (31) and Otto Porter Jr. (31) achieved this at Atlanta on March 1, 2019 (4OT). This was also the last time Bulls teammates each scored at least 30 points in a single game.

In addition, LaVine (six threes), White (five) and Young (five) became the first trio of Chicago players to each make at least five 3-pointers in a single game on Sunday.

Scoring a career-high-tying 33 points for the second straight night on Sunday, White became the first rookie reserve in league history to put up 30-plus points in consecutive contests since the NBA began tracking starters in 1970-71 (Elias Sports Bureau). White also joined New Orleans’ Zion Williamson (Feb. 11-13) as the only rookies to record a 30-point streak this season and he became the first Bulls rookie to accomplish this since Jordan did so in back-to-back games from April 5-6, 1985.

Sixteen of White’s points on Sunday came in the first quarter, second-most in an opening frame by rookie this season behind Golden State’s Eric Paschall (17 points, Nov. 4, 2019). Overall, he finished the first half with 26 points, a rookie-high for points in either a first or second half this season.

On Sunday, LaVine (three steals) extended his streak of games with at least one steal to a career-best 11 straight games, dating back to Jan. 25 at Cleveland. He had previously produced two such streaks of 10 games in his career; Nov. 17-Dec. 3, 2016 and Dec. 8-28, 2019. His 11-game streak is the longest by a Bull since Shaquille Harrison’s 13-game streak from March 12-April 9, 2019.

Tomas Satoransky (15 points, 13 assists) posted his third point-assist double-double of the season and the eighth of his career on Sunday. In four games against the Wizards this season, he averaged 17.3 points and 8.0 assists per contest.

Ryan Arcidiacono drew his team-best 18th charge of the season on Sunday, the fourth-most in the league and the third-most among Eastern Conference players.

Coby White scored a career-high 33 points on Saturday while shooting 11-22 (.500) from field, 7-13 (.538) from three and 4-4 (1.000) from the free throw line. He joined Gordon (Dec. 11, 2004) and Markkanen (Dec. 29, 2017) as the only rookies in team history to score at least 30 points with field goal and 3-point field goal percentage of .500-or-better and a free throw percentage of 1.000.

Overall, White’s 33 points on Saturday gave him what was then his 33rd double figure scoring game of his career. He now has 34 such games, which are tied with Memphis’ Brandon Clarke (34 games) for the most 10-point games among rookies coming off the bench in the league.

Twenty-one of White’s points on Saturday came from beyond the arc bringing his season total to what was then 105 3-point field goals. He now leads all rookies with 110 3-pointers. In addition, White joined Markkanen (145 threes) Kirk Hinrich (144) and Gordon (134) as the only players in team history to make at least 100 3-pointers during a rookie campaign. White (57 games) was the third fastest of the four to 100 threes behind Markkanen (41) and Hinrich (55).

White’s seven 3-point field goals on Saturday gave him what was then his fifth game with five-or-more threes. He now has a rookie-best six such contests, which are the most by a Bulls rookie in team history.

On Saturday, LaVine dropped 20 points, good for what was then his 42nd 20-point performance of the season. He now has 43 such occurrences, which are tied for the fifth-most in the league.

For the second straight game on Saturday, Thaddeus Young swiped four steals, marking the first time he had at least four takeaways in consecutive contests since doing it back-to-back outings from Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2017, as a member of Indiana. This was the second time a Bull had accomplished this during the campaign after Kris Dunn achieved this feat in two straight games from Dec. 21-23, 2019.

With two blocks on Saturday, Daniel Gafford recorded what was then his rookie-leading 15th multi-block game of the season. He now has 16 such games. Overall, he has swatted 46 shots in 483 minutes, which are seven more blocks than any other player who has seen 500-or-fewer minutes of action.
