CHE140Manual Solid-Liquid Extraction Pilot Plant

A Solid-Liquid Extraction Plant for studying extraction efficiency from different materials by varying the solid and the feed rate, solvent flow and the temperature. The unit includes a 1000mm glass extraction column. The plant is used to study the counter-current solid-liquid extractions in a continuous extractor. The unit includes a hopper for the solid material connected to a PTFE Archimedean screw to feed the solid material into the extraction column.

A Solid-Liquid Extraction Plant for studying extraction efficiency from different materials by varying the solid and the feed rate, solvent flow and the temperature. A Wetted Wall Absorption Plant for studying the theory and process of the absorption of oxygen into de-oxygenated water. The wetted wall column consists of a vertical glass tube. Water entering the column is distributed uniformly onto the inner surface. Nitrogen is injected into the column bottom. The deoxygenated water is pumped to the top of the absorption column and air is pumped into the column which rises and transfers oxygen.
