METHOD:1. Ask an adult to preheat your oven to

190ºC/fan 170ºC/gas mark 5.

2. Sprinkle your work surface with 30g of grated Yeo Valley Organic Mature Cheddar.

3. Unroll a sheet of puff pastry onto the cheese.

4. Sprinkle the puff pastry with another 30g of grated Yeo Valley Organic Mature Cheddar.

5. Roll the pastry out until it’s about the thickness of a £1 coin, making sure the cheese is nicely pressed into the pastry.

6. Fold the cheesy pastry in half, sprinkle with another 30g of grated Yeo Valley Organic Mature Cheddar and roll again.

7. Fold in half again and ask an adult to help you cut the pastry into six long strips, about 1 inch wide.

8. Line a baking tray with baking parchment, and transfer the strips to the trays. As you set them down, twist the ends in opposite directions to give the straws a spiralled look. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

9. Ask an adult to help you move your chilled cheese sticks from the fridge into your preheated oven. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes, until they are a deep golden brown, puffed and crispy.

10. Let your sticks cool on a wire cooling rack before serving.
