Checklist before taking possession of your

new home

Below is a checklist that we used before taking possession of our home. I

can't take credit for this as the list was compiled from several online

sources

Allot separate sheets for each of the below:

I would suggest #ou have inspect the house during the di/erent phases of

construction and not 0ust at the end. If #ou are going to use the following

checklist I would suggest that #ou allow an adeuate amount of time. If

#ou go thru each item and each room thoroughl# I would suggest #ou

have at least one person helping #ou and set aside about half a da#.

Items that #ou will need for #our walk through are listed below:

8nce we had the house taped o/ and the checklist done9 I went thru and

did a short video and took pictures as well detailing all of the things that

needed attention. I was warnted that blue tape sometimes has a wa# of

disappearing without the work being done and this happened to us as

well. here were so man# things that needed attention that there is no

wa# I would have remembered them all so having the video and pictures

once we went back thru the house helped tremendousl# to ensure all of

the items received attention.

%on't be afraid to bring attention to items that need it. I feel if #ou ask for

more than #ou think #ou will get9 #ou can settle in the middle and

ever#one will be happ#. I am sure the# will think I am a pain but what can

I sa#9 this is a big investment for our famil# so I have to make sure it is

correct.
