WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – August 21, 2017 – Finally, every Purdue student will be able to enjoy a fresh, handmade donut on campus. Boilermakers have waited too long for this day, but the wait is over. On the first day of the Fall 2017 semester, Hammer Donuts is open for business with a select menu. Something that could only be described as a dream in Tate Schienbein’s head has come to fruition. Over the past 13 months his vision of having a homemade donut shop in the Chauncey Village has now become a reality. The original idea came about shortly after Tate’s senior year of college while he and his friends were enjoying their last few nights of the summer before going their separate ways. Not even two days after the idea was pitched did the founder and his friends reach out to Gold Sail Capital in hopes of receiving some guidance in launching their business venture. The partnership blossomed over the coming months and with Gold Sail’s acquisition of the iconic Discount Den, the idea became more and more feasible. “We ultimately decided to go the route with the Den, not only because of its rich Purdue history, but because of the high visibility to Purdue students,” founder and owner Tate Schienbein stated. “It is kind of crazy how everything fell into place in such a short
