I am delighted that you might be thinking of Chatsworth as a venue for your wedding. We hope that you a

exceptional location for civil wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions. Chatsworth has a long history

as the house has been open to visitors ever since it was built. It has been the home of the Cavendish family

house contains one of the most important private art collections in the world.

The garden contains the Cascade, built in 1698, and spectacular fountains and waterworks. There are gian

sensory gardens, a maze and five miles of walks among interesting shrubs and unusual trees.

Our wedding ceremonies and receptions are held in beautiful rooms in the famous stable block designed in

Your wedding ceremony can be held in the elegant Hartington Room, which

seats up to 90 guests. Ceremonies can start from 4.30pm in April to November,

and between 12.00pm and 4.00pm in February and March. Unfortunately we

cannot take bookings for weddings in December and January.

All our wedding rooms are housed in the famous stable bloc

1758. The stables were commissioned by the 4th Duke of Dev

radical changes to the landscape, employing Lancelot Capab

With a stunning contemporary look, led by the Duchess of

Devonshire, the Cavendish Rooms are partly created from the

arcade that surrounded the stables central courtyard, which

originally provided a covered ride for exercising horses in bad

weather. The glazed ride provides a wonderful location for a drinks

reception with easy access to the garden for formal photographs.

T H E B U R L I N G T O N R O O M

This room is named after the 3rd Earl of Burlington,

1694 - 1753, who was one of the most influential

patrons, collectors and arbiters of taste in 18th century

England. His only surviving child, Charlotte, married

the 4th Duke of Devonshire, thus enriching the

Devonshire Collection with her fathers houses and their

contents. Hung with paintings from the Collection the

Burlington room is a beautiful private space in which

to host a wedding breakfast for up to 56 guests.
