Discussion Questions:

What does Messiah mean?God’s promised one. The one God promised to send, who would save His people. (Grades 4-6: Remember Isaiah 53 ?)

What does it mean for Jesus to be the Messiah, how will He rescue His people?HE will rescue His people by dying for them! When He died on the cross, He was rescuing His people from the consequences of sin… that’s how He saves… He saves His people from being separated from God because of their sin.

Who is it that is rescued? Who are the people the Messiah will save?All who believe in Jesus will be saved. Jesus rescues anyone who believes that He is God’s Son, the Messiah, the one who died in our place.

Prayer:Thank you Jesus that you loved us so much that you came to rescue us.Thank you Jesus that you loved me so much you came to rescue me!Thank you Jesus that you forgive me! (You might like to have a little quiet time to think about the things you need to ask God to forgive you for)Help me Jesus to have faith, to trust in you...
