PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
COOPERATION - RESPECT - RESPONSILIBITY - SAFETY PAGE 1
Another term finished and how about the
weather! Our students have been very well
behaved considering the amount of time
they have been indoors due to the wet,
windy and cold weather.
A number of staff have been ill during this
term however we have been able to keep all
programs running with a minimum of inter-
ruption.
Student reports have been sent home for
you to look at. Due to some teachers being
away sick recently, these reports have gone
home on different days this week however
they will all go home by tomorrow except
for 3/4H which will be next term. If you
would like to discuss any aspect of your
child’s report please make an appointment
with their teacher. Please do not expect to
have a discussion without an appointment,
teachers have a responsibility to ensure
students are being cared for immediately
prior to school and at the end of the day.
They cannot stop to have “off the cuff” dis-
cussions.
This year has been a very busy one in re-
gards to staffing. We have appointed one
new Assistant Principal (Mrs Gray/Smith)
and four Class Room Teachers (Mrs Wells,
Miss Tyrie, Miss Anderson and Miss Harper).
This is a great example of how well Local
Schools Local Decisions can work for your
community as all of these teachers were
appointed through a process which identi-
fied teachers who bring skills specific to the
needs of our community.
As of this week, Mr Callow is on Long Ser-
vice Leave until Week 3 of next term and I
will be Acting Principal. I will be in that posi-
tion until Mr Callow returns on Thursday

CATCH IT
Germs spread easily. Always carry tissues and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
BIN IT
Germs can live for sev-eral hours on tissues. Dispose of your tissue as soon as possible.
KILL IT
Hands can transfer germs to every surface you touch. Clean your hands as soon as you can.
Please continue to collect your
Coles Vouchers. If you could please
keep them over the holidays and
bring them in to our school office
next term. Thank you.
If you could

Next Semester, Stage 3 will be participating in Murder
under the Microscope. In Murder under the Microscope,
students are presented with an eco-crime they must in-
vestigate. Working as a team, students study the issues
and crime sites, research the victims and villains and use
the clues provided by Catchment Headquarters (online
site) to try to solve the mystery. This is a highly engaging
way for out students to learn about science and the envi-
ronment while developing their team work skills. To learn
more go to http:/www.microscope.edu.au/
Mrs Goldie Stage 3 Teacher
Our Debating Team Milly Ryan, Teagan Phillips, Mikaylee

Term 2 has come and gone very quickly! I have been pleased
with the high standard of work which as been produced
throughout the Stage.
The students have been engaged in a wide variety of activities
and I congratulate them on their achievements. They have tak-
en part in many sporting activities such as the Athletics Carnival,
sport with Chatham High School, PSSA competitions and Gala
Days. The students enjoyed our trip on the “Tin Hare” and they
presented some great items at Monday Assemblies.
Once again, I am very pleased with the high number of Stage 2
students who do the right thing and are always in FULL School
Uniform.
In Term 3, the students will be working on the COGS Unit,
“Living in Communities”. Obviously, they will also be keeping
up to date with events from London and learning about the
Olympic Games.
Half yearly reports were sent home this week except for 3/4H
which will be next term. Please remember to make an appoint-
ment with your child’s teacher if you need to talk about any
aspect of the report or your child’s schooling. I would like
take this opportunity to thank Miss North, Mrs Gay, Ms Hardy,
Mr McKenzie, Mr Copp and Miss Morris for their help and
support throughout the term.
I look forward to seeing you all again throughout the term.
Have a happy holiday.

STAGE 1 MUSIC
HORSERIDING PROGRAM
Last Tuesday morning children in Years 3 & 4 participated in
gardening and environment activities with representatives
from Bunnings Taree. The morning began with a short talk
about composting and worm farms. Children were then in-
volved in planting a variety of vegetables donated by Bun-
nings. It was a very enjoya-
ble and informative morn-
ing for those involved and
we thank Bunnings for
their generous donation of
time and plants.
