Q1: WoVoCon 2015 is April 17-19 in Las Vegas. How can we continue to improve this conference? #WoVoChat
A1: Member input is the most important part of the process. Please contribute your voice. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A1: We moved the event to a nicer hotel with more amenities and better internet for WoVoCon. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A1: There will be more organized peer-to-peer learning and mentoring at WoVoCon this year. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh

Q2: How can WoVo best implement plans to mentor newer members? #WoVoChat
A2: WoVo’s Mentoring Committee: Peter Bishop, Elizabeth Holmes and @DustinEbaugh, please let them know. #WoVoChat@CourVoA2: New members should let us know areas in which they would like mentoring. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A2: Current members may also be mentors or mentees. Just let us know what you’d like to do. #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A2: If you have a skillset outside of VO, please let the committee know if you’d like to mentor. #WoVoChat@CourVo

Q3: What are the biggest issues involving trends in setting respectable rates for voice actors? #WoVoChat
A3: No question. Market forces. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A3: #2 reason: Newcomers who are unfamiliar with rates from before. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A3: Entrepreneurs and freelancers get what they deserve when they believe in their own self-worth. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A3: We’re not organized. The union can help. So can WoVo. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh

Q4: Should WoVo pursue liaisons or even official recognition from SAG-AFTRA? #WoVoChat
A4: We are working on this now and having conversations with the union. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A4: WoVo is union-neutral, union members and non-members comprise our membership and Executive Board. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A4: We feel that liaising with the union would be e benefit to our members. #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A4: Perhaps WoVo could help bring voiceover out of the background in SAG-AFTRA. #WoVoChat@CourVo

Q5: What’s the best way to get producers, clients and booking agents to notice our new voiceover.biz site? #WoVoChat
A5: We need any and all suggestions. Word-of-mouth. Reputation. Repeated exposure to our message. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A5: It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We lead by actions and making sense for our members. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A5: Our members. The more we have, the greater voice, and the more notice we get. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A5: By proving to them over and over that visiting voiceover.biz is the right choice. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh

Q6: How can World-Voices best lead the business as the voice of people who speak for a living? #WoVoChat
A6: By promoting our best practices to VO’s, producers and coaches. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A6: Continue to reach out to other industry partners and service providers for VO. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A6: Keep promoting WoVo as the industry association for voice actors. #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A6: Members can issue press releases about their involvement with WoVo in their communities. #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
Q7: How important is it that WoVo work to educate its members and non-members to the realities of our business? #WoVoChat
A7: I think it’s one of our core missions. It’s also where we verge into controversy. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A7: If WoVo doesn’t, who will speak for voice talent? Not the union. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A7: Very important. That’s why we’re always publishing ‘best practices’ and pushing the envelope. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A7: This is one of the primary functions of an industry trade association = World-Voices. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
Q8: What should WoVo be doing to publicize or reach out to notify others why we exist and who we represent? #WoVoChat
A8: Online forums are great, but the monthly newsletter is our OFFICIAL members-only vehicle for passing on info. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A8: The problem with a newsletter is that it’s mostly one-way, but social media is not. #WoVoChat@CourVo
A8: Word-of-mouth is traditionally the most powerful and we think that’s growing exponentially. #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A8: Conferences. One-on-one. PR. Recruitment. Traditional routes. No reason to reinvent the wheel, is there? #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
Q9: Is it important for WoVo to provide badges, certifications or acknowledgement for technical knowledge or status? #WoVoChat
A9: Websites and email signature badges can help promote WoVo within the industry. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A9: Yes. Many members have asked for these features and we’re providing them as we grow. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh
A9: We believe there’s value in peer recognition and validation. #WoVoChat@DustinEbaugh

Q10: How could WoVo Meetup groups be more successful in furthering our mission? #WoVoChat
A10: We need feedback from international members on this. Geography based? Time-zone based? #WoVoChat@CourVo
A10: Board member Ann Richardson has worked hard at this, but it’s a tough nut. Would anyone else like to help? #WoVoChat@CourVo
A10: Maybe WoVo Meetup Groups could be ‘franchised’ chapters. Would that make more sense? #WoVoChat@CourVo
#WoVoChat www.worldvo.org
A10: All we know is, as haphazard as it is, meetup groups have given us some of our best ideas/energy. #WoVoChat@CourVo
