charTer sTars are compeTiTion-judged aWards and you

musT be in a Team in order To compeTe. parTicipanTs can

eiTher build a Team Themselves, or They can be submiTTed

as a conTender by a sponsor. Teams belong To each

sponsor and you need To be submiTTed by Them in order To

compeTe, unless you build ThaT Team yourself. despiTe The

facT ThaT you Will be represenTing a sponsor or your oWn

esTablished Team, if you are aWarded WiTh a charTer sTar,

The sTar belongs To you, noT The sponsor or your yachT .

proceed To The sTage 2.

The compeTiTion Will be held in 2 parTs. The firsT parT

is The online sTage Where chefs need To form Teams

WiTh Their sponsors in order To qualify. during This

sTage Their creaTions Will be voTed on by The public.

Those ThaT receive The mosT voTes qualify for sTage 2.

- every Team represenTed needs To have a Team manager Who is needed To approve every Team applicaTion.

- We can only accepT paymenTs for Team submissions by The Team manager in order To process applicaTions.

- all fees due need To be paid by The Team manager WiThin 7 days of Their compeTiTor submission..

COMPETITION

EVENT

Those contenders who make it through the facebook qualifying round will compete against the other remaining contenders during the fort lauderdale boat show held from the 26th until the 28th of october 2012. The chefwalk will provide all the facilities needed in order for competing chefs to prove their skills in a master chef-style cook-off!

EVENT SCHEDULE

The event will be held over 3 days with 5 contenders to compete each day. The chefs will be given their ingredients at the start of the day and each day’s ingredients will be the same for each chef.

COOKING TIME LIMITS FOR THE FINALS

- The ingredients will be submitted each morning with 15 minutes given to plan and write the menu

- preparation of the dishes will be allocated a 4 hour time limit in the morning

- dishes must be served within a certain amount of time. a 15 minute time frame will be allocated to plating each course.

GENERAL RULES FOR THE COOKING

COMPETITION

- competitors are allowed to bring basic equipment (non electric) to the event.

- no pre-prepared food items are permitted in the competition

KITCHEN EQUIPMENT

The following equipment will be provided by The chefwalk:

- mixing bowls and chopping boards - Thermo mix - low Temperature cooker - food processor - hand blender - induction stove Tops - convectional ovens with steamers - japanese knives from korin with a personal engraving of the chef’s name - customised nuuq chef jackets - all personal electric appliances are prohibited at the event.

Judges and Stars

our judges, consisting of three well-versed culinary professionals, will award stars once the cook-off is over. judges award stars individually and to as many chefs as they deem worthy, which means competing chefs have the potential to be awarded up to 3 charter stars each-one from each judge!

This competition will be held every year and is the ultimate opportunity to publicise and establish the culinary reputation of competing chefs and their sponsors.

The teams are able to advertise The charterstars online event on all electronic and print media of their choice.

sponsors and contenders have to get permission to advertise during the final cook-off round. This includes the displayed merchandise, which include chef uniforms and per-sonal equipment brought by the competitor for the event.

all participating chefs must have signed up with epic food ltd in order to compete.

all competitors need to have a minimum of 2 seasons experience as charter yacht chefs, and this experience must have been accrued within the last 4 years.
