Charles Thompson Ltd is a Private Limited Company, established in 1969 as a small fabricator to service the local steel and coal industries.

In the late 70’s CTL progressed into supplying process equipment, manufacturing pressure vessels and pipework systems in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel.

During the early 80’s Heat Exchanger manufacture was introduced along with Nickel Alloy materials, diversifying in the mid 80’s to supplying complete process skid packages to predominantly UK clients.

In the early 90’s the majority of equipment manufactured was for export markets to the Middle East and Far East, in the late 90’s the Pharmaceutical filtration & drying division was introduced to service the filter dryer market across Europe and the US.

Today CTL are a renowned process plant manufacturer, specialising in the mechanical design and manufacture of bespoke pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filtration equipment, pipework systems and packaged process systems supplying to global clients.

CTL acquired Seal Engineering in 2009 to be rebranded as CTL Seal, specialising in bespoke fabrications, heavy precision machining and lifting equipment.

• CTL have in-house facilities for Weld Overlay utilising the Electro-slag & Automatic GTAW Processes, additionally we have weld procedures for Explosion & Rolled Bonded Clad Materials

• Uniquely for a fabricator, CTL have an in-house instrumentation department which provides designs, material supply, installation and commissioning of Skid Packages & Filter Dryers
