Here is a chance for you to tell about your military service experience (places, events, comrades, etc.). Contact Jeanette at Loutit (616-842-5560, ext: 225) for further information. In this post Draft era, with such political and cultural discord, it is important to remember and document the cultural cross-pollenization effects of the Draft on our society. With our smaller professional military, that effect is diminished. Please add your voice to this endeavor. At this writing (mid-January), the dust has settled on the holiday hullabaloo. It’s time for a big “Thank You” to Tina, Cindy and all the volunteers for the successful Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve day events. Great job gang! The well-attended 100 Year Committee fundraiser on January 13 th bodes well for their future events. Pencil in the February 17 th lasagna dinner and WWII veterans documentary screening on your social calendar (dinner by Olive Garden and Desserts by Design, coffee from Jumpin' Java). Teams for the February 10 th Chili Cook-off have been selected and they have been testing and tweaking their recipes. Don’t miss this one!!! Despite being the depths of winter, this February is lining up to be another busy month at Post 28. NOTE: If your family has a graduating senior that will attend college in the fall, check the info about the Gene Rothi Scholarship inside the newsletter. Deadline is April 20, 2018.
