Dear Brother Knights,

While in church the weekend we announced the “Rediscover Jesus” book I couldn't help but think that across the church parking lot, the Knights were serving Pancake Breakfast and in church, Knights are involved with the different ministries of the Mass. Then the parish is learning about the Rediscover Book effort about to be launched. How can POP parishioners not be impressed by the contribution the Knights bring to our parish. It makes you so proud to be a Knight. !I want to recognize and thank Joe Frank, Tom Cummings and Paul Carren for their wonderful job in presenting the "Rediscover Jesus" Book to POP Parish. Thanks also for the team effort in labeling all of

the books with Knights Logo and those distributing the books after Mass. Thanks to all for your generous support with your time, talent and treasure to make this all come together. !But this all would not have happened if not for Dick Heitzman having the desire to share this Rediscover Book with POP and the support of Father Kovanis. No doubt Dick had to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Through this book hundreds of people will be impacted and strengthened in their faith during this Lenten season. !If you attended the Military Ball, you know how great the event was. Nick Caleca Chairman of the Ball took on a demanding project, but with the help of Larry Seick and others it went off beautifully. Thanks to Louise and Mike Wagner for the patriotic draping that the guest walked through as they entered the Conesa Center. Thanks to Leo Pelzel and Tony Gerbino for participating in the Color Guard. !Jim Claro is heading up of our annual Tootsie Roll Drive again. Jim still needs more volunteers. Solicitation for business is on March11th & 12th. Solicitation at church is March18th & 19th. This is one of our most important projects so please give Jim a call to help. !Thanks go’s out to Nick Caleca for spear heading the Youth Formation Dinners and to those Knights and spouses that have prepared and served delicious meals for the youth and teachers. This gives the Knights a very visual presence in supporting the many POP programs. !Founders Day is Wednesday March 29th. We will honor our Founder Michael McGivney at a Mass at 4:00 P. M. We will have a social following at the Sandpiper Restaurant. You have a choice of 3 entrees. Salmon $13.95, Chicken Piccata $13.95 or Chopped Steak $11.95. I need RSVP by March 22nd with your choice of entrée. A great way to continue to honor our Founder and socialize with your Brother Knights and Ladies. The food is good too. If you would, please wear your blue or red shirts. !It is time for our Lenten Fish Fry. We will be serving up a great Fish dinner beginning Friday March 3rd. We need all the help we can get, as we will be conducting the fish fry every Friday during lent with exception of Good Friday.

4 th DEGREE NEWS   F i rst  - the whole assembly would like to thank Sir Knights, Nick Caleca and Larry Seick

for a job well done on the 3rd Military Ball.  These two knights did a great Job organizing this wonderful event. It was work that nobody else would take on. We would also like to thank all the wives of our Knights that helped, there are too many to name! !We had an impressive, large group of attendees.  A very special thank-you to the Guest Speaker, Rear Admiral Lawrence C, Chambers, USN, Retired, and his wife Sheila. We appreciate his interesting and superb presentation. !

FOUNDERS DAY March 29

With the 151 attendees this year, the sales and donations were $7,550, deducting the total expenses of $6,546.78 (for caterer and band), net proceeds are $1,003.22. Thanks again to Nick and Larry for a job well done!   Third Degree Knights are welcome to join the assembly. We are trying to give much support and and help to our Veterans, visiting every first Monday of the month the Haley Va hospital in Tampa  Bingo. Please bring food to give the winners chits to spend in the shops. !The new election of officers for the #2533 Assembly for the 4th Degree will be in  June. On Founder's Day this March 29th, we celebrate the anniversary of the Knights of Columbus. As we celebrate the legacy of Venerable Michael McGivney and the contributions of our brother Knights since 1882, we also prepare for an even greater future as we live out the vision of our founder. The anniversary of the realization of Father McGivney’s dream is a cause for celebration.!We will honor our Founder Michael McGivney at a Mass at 4:00 pm and following a Social at the Sandpiper Restaurant.
