Alabama ChapterAlabama ChapterLook how far we have come!

In a recent survey, 90% of the QI team pediatricians would continue to participate in a chapter led collaborative learning project. Our pediatricians were eager to get on board!

Our optimal care measures has increased from 33% to 86%!

Use of Asthma Action Plans has increased from 44% to 89%

Biggest Ah Ha! Moment from many of our practices: “Watching hospitalizations decrease over the life of the project and realizing we have not admitted an asthmatic patient in months”.

Reports from our pediatricians on the positive experiences for patients and staff.

Next Steps

Maine is not likely going to continue in the pilot next year. Maine AAP leaders are looking at how to continue to build

QI infrastructure in the state and coordinate with different groups that want to work on other topics

Possible work with Improving Health Outcomes for Children (IHOC) Program that has CHIPRA money for practice improvement

The Maine AAP QI Committee is looking at recommending QI measures for registry collection that include asthma
