Hi Roamers!
Here we are in the middle of another hot summer (unless you get to be at the coast!). Our last two rallies are set
out below.
A REQUEST to everyone: I will be wagonmaster for a second year, 2018. I did the best I could this year, but am
happy to add whatever you’d like me to to the 2018 schedule. I’ve already had a request for a pre-FMCA NW
rally in June, next year in Coos Bay. That didn’t work very well this year, but perhaps we can try again. I’ve had a
suggestion for a trip to a nice park north into the Longview area. So, I would appreciate hearing from anyone with
any ideas about the following:
1. Parks to explore taking our group to; 2. A pre-FMCA rally at the coast in June; 3. Thoughts about how far away we want to go….how many miles from, say, Redmond. Do we have a lot of
folks who’d like to travel farther, or are we happy staying closer to home? All ideas welcome.
The remaining 2017 Rim Rock Roamers rally schedule:
The Casey’s rally in Westfir is August 16-20, four nights. If you would like to join us, there may be an opening at
the Park, so feel free to call them (541-782-1906) and schedule yourselves in. If you will be joining us, please let
me know! The seven rally goer rigs I know about are:
Andres Ribbles Rydman Doermer
Webster/Duff Colemans Pratt Fihn
The rally at the Crater Lake RV Park in Prospect is September 20-25. If you would like to join us, please call in
your reservation to them (641-560-3399) and let me know you are joining us there. It's a beautiful area tucked in
the trees with larger sites. The Prospect Hotel Annual Music in the Mountains Festival happens on Friday and
Saturday. It's a very fun weekend for music, wine and food lovers. Check out the website:

Those I know who are attending are:
Coleman Doermer Deaton Nickelson
Pratt
Please share any input you may have about making 2018 a very good year for the Roamers.
Thanks! Marion

Note from our VP – Dave Coleman
The Newport rally was a success especially considering our President, Secretary, and Wagon Master were all
missing at the last minute due to family and close friend situations. V/P (and Acting President) Dave had to adjust
several of the plans accordingly, so no Oysters and the Fisher folk ended up with lots of Crab. They donated a
goodly portion of the Crab to a Crab feed and Jerry and Ginny Andres bought some Cod and Steelhead to
supplement the Crab. We had plenty of Crab. We had a couple of other Pot Lucks and one dinner at the Rogue
Brewery after taking a tour of the facility. President Warner did come one morning and turned all his RRR stuff
over to V/P Dave. Warner stated that due to family matters in California, he and Kathy will miss the remainder of
our rallies this year. As this was the only remaining Rally where we would have a quorum, V/P Dave conducted a
meeting and new officers were elected for 2018. Warner remains as our President until 1/1/18 and V/P Dave will
fill out the year as acting President.
The next Rally is scheduled for 8/15 thru 8/20 at Casey's RV Park in Westfir. We will have access to the club
house, since another group cancelled, so if anyone has games they want to bring, please do so. We might all
learn some new games!
Wagon Master Marion is setting up a pre-FMCA Rally for next June. Keep in mind she does a lot of work to set
these things up and as Parks are becoming more and more full of live-ins the parks are only allowing her to
reserve a small number of sites for us for a limited period of time. Keep these limitations in mind when deciding
whether to attend any of our Rallies in the future. She is not making up dates to suit her but as directed by the
Park.
Pay attention to the next couple of issues of the FMCA magazine as there will be a ballot regarding the future
direction of the organization. This is regarding what type of RV's will be allowed to be members and
therefore members of our Chapter. More information regarding this question will be forthcoming in future
newsletters and at our upcoming Rallies.

standing in line? Sign in background might

From our National Director – Jerry
Hi Rim Rock Roamers:
August is here and for Jinny and I, the upcoming gathering at Casey’s will be our last rally for 2017.
We are making a trip back to the Midwest for a rally in September that will have us out of Central
Oregon for six weeks. We had a great time at Newport with many Roamers in attendance. I was asked
to cook fish on an outdoor grill for the first time in my life, and thanks to John Doermer’s coaching, I
survived that task. We enjoyed the visiting and getting caught up with our many Roamer friends.
Well the total eclipse that will visit Central Oregon is just a short time away. Jinny has stocked up with
enough toilet paper to last six months. We are told that our area will have over a million out of town
visitors. The roads are forecasted to be packed with autos. We plan to come back from Casey’s a day
early so that we can hunker down for that event on August 21st. Jinny and I want to wish you all safe
travels.
