Chapter 3- The meet

Bella’s p.o.v.

The first four days of me being a vampire was amazing. Emmett and I wrestled, played

sports, and bet a lot too. Even without Alice I still won every single game he threw at me.

Rosalie had become to like me, and fully accepted me as a sister. I was completelyshocked.

Esme had watched me carefully around the house with Jasper, making sure I didn’t let

my emotions get out of hand or touching anything stronger than I should. Esme had givenme my own room, even though I didn’t need it so anything.

We all went hunting the second I came out of the change. The animals tasted weird, but I

got used to the taste after a while. I think it is a tie between mountain lions and wolves. The blood is just so much sweeter!

Carlisle had made me describe every detail about the change and what happened before

he, Emmett, and Alice had arrived. Carlisle was completely shocked and angry for what

had happened to me. He had given me a hug and a kiss on the head when I was finished.

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was there was still no Alice…..or Edward. I

tried my best to keep my mind off of him, but somehow he just kept crawling back into

my thoughts.

Today was the day Alice was supposed to come home. Emmett stayed behind with mewhile everyone went to the airport to see Alice. I wanted to go, but they explained how itwould be scary for the humans if there was a teenage girl walking through the airport

with crimson eyes.

“So Bella….” Emmett sighed as we lolled lazily on the couch.

“Hmm?”

“What do you want to do?” He asked.

“I don’t know, what do you want to do?”

“Dust mote catching?” He asked and pulled out two tiny wooden nets from his pocket of

his jeans.

I shrugged and took a net from him. We watched dust motes fly around in circles,

floating away whenever we tried to catch one. About thirty minutes had passed and I was

winning.

“Come here you little…..” Emmett mumbled has he swung the little butterfly net in his

large hand at a floating grey dust mote.

There were no other dust motes in the air in my direction so I moved closer to Emmett’s

spot. I thought I heard the door open, but I just focused my attention on the mote.

“I’m gonna get it!” I vowed and swung in tiny circles in the direction of the mote.

Emmett nudged me away lightly but I pushed him back lightly, and soon we were pushing back and forth, trying to get the one dust mote. The mote lowered near our faces

and we leaned closer and closer until…..

Our foreheads slammed into each other’s and we fell back on the couch, clutching our heads in pain.

“Owww!” We moaned.

There was laughter from behind the couch, and when I looked up the family was staring

down at Emmett and I.

“What the heck were you two doing?” Rosalie laughed.

“Dust mote catching.” Emmett mumbled and sat up.

I sat up still clutching my head.

“Gosh Bella, If you wanted some of Emmett, all you had to do was ask me.” Rosalie

winked at me and I giggled.

“Good, ‘cause Bella is very attractive.” Emmett pulled me closer and winked at me.

I laughed and pulled away.

I looked up at the family. Jasper nor Alice were in the room.

“Where are Jasper and Alice?” I asked as my eyes searched the room.

“Right here Bella!” I heard Alice’s lovely voice from the foot of the stairs. I looked to see

Jasper and Alice hand in hand, walking to us from the stairs.

“Alice!” I said happily and got up and hugged her.

She hugged me back.

“Sorry I wasn’t there to see you ‘wake up’, up I think you’ll like the present in your room

that I brought you.” She smiled.

“Alice!” I whined.

“Don’t Alice me. Go upstairs and see what it is.”

I sighed and made my way up the stairs. When I reached my room, I smelled somethingdifferent than my scent, but oddly familiar. When I opened the door, there was nothing in

my room. Confused, I walked in and stepped into the middle of my room. I looked

around, but I whirled around when I heard the sound of my door closing.

I gasped. Edward was standing in front of the door, hand on the knob. He looked at me

cautiously, mostly staring at my red eyes. We stared at each other for a long time before

he spoke.

“Bella…” He took a step forward. “Are you okay?” He asked.

I just shrugged.

He kept walking towards me until he and I were almost a hand’s length away. He lookeddown at me with pained eyes. His eyebrows furrowed together, like he was concentrating

on something very hard. But all of a sudden he pulled me into a bone crushing hug.

I just stood there, standing still. I didn’t know if this was a hug a friend would give toanother friend or just a hug out of sympathy. Edward sensed my discomfort and pulled

back enough to see my face.

I pulled away from him and ran from the room. What is he doing? It’s bad enough to be

close to him knowing that he doesn’t love me anymore. Is he just trying to make me

suffer even more?

My family called out my name as I ran out of the house. I kept pushing my self, going

faster with each stride. I’d do anything to get away from him right now. I could senseAlice behind me.

“Wait up Bella!” Alice called out to me desperately.

I bit my lip and stopped below a very big tree. The house was out of sight and I was

enclosed in a circle of unfamiliar trees. I sunk to the ground covered in snow on my knees

and wrapped my arms around myself, trying to make the gaping hole in my chest fadeaway.

“Oh Bella honey,” Alice sympathized and put her arms around me.

“Why his he here?” I asked her shakily.

“You should already know why Bella.” She said soothingly.

“Because you dragged him back here?” I guessed and sniffled.

Alice laughed.

“No sweetie. Because he loves you,”

I scoffed. Sure, sure, plant that seed of doubt in my head before I see a vampire wrapped

in his arms.

“Now I know that bringing him back wasn’t a good idea, but he’s going to be around here

for a long time. Of course Rosalie probably would think him better off where I found him

 because he hurt you.”

“Where was that?” I croaked.

“In a dust covered attic, somewhere in South America, curled up into a ball.”

“Oh,” I said a little shocked

“But to only make it better between you two, you have to talk it out.” Alice pulled me up

from the ground and I dusted the snow off myself.

“C’mon girl. Lets go home, grab the car and Rosalie and have a full out girl night. We’lldrive to the mall, make fun of cave- like men, and shop till the bags it won’t fit in the

trunk!” Alice tried to lighten the mood and I grudgingly managed a half smile.

We ran back to the house and I tried my hardest not to look up at the tall figure with

bronze hair staring down at Alice and I from the window. And I did it successfully. Alice

and I met Alice in the house and explained on what we were going to do.

“Sounds good. I’ve been dying to go get this new coach purse for ages!” Rosalie smiled

at both of us and grabbed the keys to the BMW.

Alice drove us to the mall because Rosalie had no idea where the mall was. I wasn’t as

excited to go to the mall, but at least I would be away from Edward.
