Eye for eye

Eye for an eye is a phrase , which means if you do something for example ,you take out somebody’s eye they take out your eye out in return.

What happened when there was no proof for a case

For the codes that they cant prove they had a court system.

What laws still survived today?

One law that there was is minimum wage

The minimum wage was 8 gurs of corn per year

What is Hammurabi's code?

His code is a set of 282 laws.He made them because of they were

written down then they are more official.

Who was Hammurabi ?

he ruled the Babylonian empire from 1792 -50b.c.e

He was the 6th king of the city.

Who found the code?

A French archeologist found it in 1901.

Mesopotamia

Writing was made in Mesopotamia in about 3500 b.c

In Mesopotamia clay was most written on material.

Scribes

Scribes were very important back them.Scribes had important jobs.

Stuff they wrote on

Postcards were used for personal messages.

Pictures were the first type of writing.As time went on writing got more

advanced.

hieroglyphics in Egypt

Most of the important hieroglyphics were in temple's or in tombs.

Hieroglyphics were made by painters and sculptors.

Lost and found

When the Rosetta stone was found hieroglyphics was rediscovered.
