A.Major Rivers- St Lawrence River, Hudson River, Mohawk River

V.What is the difference between a natural resource and a product?

• A natural resource - found in nature

• Soil, rocks, water, plants

• A product - made by humans or grown

• Butter, wind energy, paper

VI. What are New York’s Natural Resources?

A.Land- ¼ of N.Y. used for farming

1. Products-Hay, corn, apples, dairy

B. Forests- cover ½ of the state

1. Products- lumber, paper, maple syrup
