Grooming includes proper care of the parts of the body—HAIR, FACE, TEETH, MOUTH, ARMS, FINGERS, NAILS, LEGS, AND FEET.

Good Grooming- means being neat and suitably dressed. It includes personal cleanliness, eating the right food, getting enough rest or sleep, fresh air, sunshine and regular exercise.

Hair1.Comb- it is used to arrange

remove dust and dirt and to stimulate the oil in the scalp.

Dry hair must be washed at least twice a week.

4.Underarm and Foot deodorant- it is used to minimize or prevent body odor from the armpit and feet. It is usually used after bathing.

1.Toothbrush- it is used to clean the teeth.

2.Toothpaste- it is used to keep breath fresh and to protect the teeth from decay. KEEP the toothpaste tube tightly closed or covered after every use.

3.Mouthwash-it is gargled to clean and to freshen breath.

1.Nailclipper-it is used to trim

fingernails and toenails.

2.Nail File - it is used to smooth and

shaping the ends of the fingernails.

1. Wet the entire body.2. Put a small amount of shampoo

on your hands. Make lather then apply it on your wet hair and gently massage your scalp. Leave the shampoo on your hair for a while.

3. Put some soap on the face towel. Gently scrub your whole body.

Brushing Your Teeth

Steps in Proper Brushing

1. Prepare a glass of water. Get your toothbrush and put toothpaste on it.

2. Brush surface of you front, back, upper, and lower teeth.

3. Brush the teeth with downward stokes, and the lower teeth with upper strokes.

4. Gargle thorouhly until no trace of toothpaste is left inside your mouth.

Smiling attracts people. It is enhanced by sparkling clean teeth that adds charm

to your bright smile.

Visit the dentist every six months to have your teeth examined. When cavities appear, these

should be treated at once to save teeth from

extraction To have strong teeth, you must eat

rich in Vitamin C, A, and Calcium. These helps strenghten you gums and help prevent cavities.

Brush your teeth immediately after meals to keep your breath fresh and your gums healthy.

Choose a toothbrush with a head that is small enough to reach all your teeth and gum margins. Replace toothbrush every 3 months.

EYES- are your sense of sight and most expressive feature.

Be sure too have enough light when you read. Never read in the dark or in a moving vehicle.Use a clean handkerchief or tissue to wipe your eyes. Never use a dirty hand or rough towel.Do not expose your eyes to extreme light. Use an appropriate pair of sunglasses to protect them.

Caring for your hands and feet

Wash your hands with soap and water BEFORE and AFTER eating.Do NOT allow your nails to grow very long and pointed.Trim your fingernails regularly.Wash your feet with soap and lukewarm water everyday to keep them clean and healthy. Add salt to the water to make a good footbath for those feet who perspire a lot. Dry your feet well with a soft cloth and towel.

Doing regular exercise is a means of maintaining good health. It helps build muscles that develops the body to a beautiful figure. It helps remove waste products from the body.Walking, running, and playing are some activities that you can do.

Maintaining good postureIt is important that you maintain a good posture while doing your daily activities.Good posture helps make your organs function properly.

STANDING See to it that you are standing tall.Chest out and your head, shoulder, waists, hips, knees, and ankles are in straight line. Put you weight on the bases of your feet, not on your toes or heels. Your feet should be slightly apart while your toes should be pointed forward.

SittingYour lower back should touch the back of the chair.Remember to sit tall.Do not slouch.
