Beach Hut Geometry Even After You’ve Gone

Adam Piggott is a local musician and composer whose love of photography was rekindled after a trip to Barcelona with a disposable camera in 2005. On returning home he upgraded his equipment and began to build a body of work which is fast gaining a reputation locally.

"I feel lucky to live on a coastline that's so full of inspiration in both it's geography and architecture. Much of my work relies on spotting that unique moment when the light works perfectly to enhance the beauty and elegance of the simplest forms. I seek to bring out the unique and often geometric elements to create images that captivate and arrest the viewer”.

“My work celebrates nature, it’s beauty and vulnerability. The seaside is the background where my work takes place – where every moment and day looks different. The sea with its changing movements, but always here, endlessly.

Initially, I took photos of locations and lights for film shoots. But this photos had a life and existence of their own and reflect for me the beauty I was confronted with in each moment. Capturing the moment, the second where the light appears.

Other than my filmmaking I try to see the short moments when the sky, the sea, the birds, the sun – all the possible elements seem to fit together. It is the colour that fascinates me. All my pictures try to conserve and reflect this variety on shades and atmospheres”.
