Definitions Chapter 2
• Appliance – utilizes gas
• Apparatus and devices other than appliances.
Make up air provisions 304.4
• Where exhaust fans, clothes dryers, Kitchen fans interfere with operation of appliances make up air is to be provided
• (Shall be determined in adequacy of space-Old Code)
Access Service space 306.1 MMC & IFGC
• Removal of Appliance cannot result in removing other appliances, Piping & Ducts not associated with the appliance.
Attic & Crawl Space installations 306.3
• Removal of the largest appliance opposed to largest part. ( Opening)
• Correlates with Michigan Mechanical Code Now
Electrical Bonding 310.1.1
• CSST must be bonded to electrical service with #6 AWG
Gas Piping Entering Building 404.4
• Gas line must enter a building above grade

• Code use to only regulate Valve upstream from union.

• When primer is required by Manufacturer’s Installation Instruction
• Primer must have a contrasting color.
Commercial Cooking Appliance Interlock 505.11
• New Language to make sure that appliances with standing pilots not to be extinguished. –
• Compromise created for Cooking Stove companies.
• Dangerous if you have to keep relighting pilots
